The unexpected daughter

A new friend

I decided to live a while longer thanks to some encouraging words by a certain wolf demon. As we made our way through the forest I couldn't help but think back to the day before.
Flashback
"Now let's go find Naraku."
But after half a day of traveling Koga left the group to go back and search with his own. Leaving me here with a group I don't even know the names of.
End flashback
We finally stopped walking for the night and started to make camp, I was about to go get some food but the girl in a very short skirt I think Koga called her Kagome? Started pulling some weird food out of her bag. Looking around I noticed there was nothing left for me to do to help out so I just sat by the fire. Watching as the flames danced in the night was very relaxing but soon Kagome walked up to me with some of that weird food. "Nina would you like something to eat?" I eyed the food cautiously before shaking my head no. I saw her frown but she left the cup of weird food beside me anyways. It wasn't long before the dog was picking on the fox demon kid because he wanted his food. I glared at the dog when he finally got the food away from the little boy, it made my blood boil. I stood up and walked over to the dog, as soon as I was standing in front of him he spoke "what the hell do you want wench?" I smiled sweetly before punching him in the stomach. "You shouldn't take what isn't yours mutt." I then picked the fox boy up and went back to my spot, I picked up the food Kagome had left for me and handed it to the fox boy. "Thank you." I nodded "what is your name child?" He smiled up at me "my name is Shippo." I smiled too. I got up and made my way into a high branch of a near by tree to sleep.
Dream
I was back in the village and there was a croud forming I ran to see what was going on,  I saw a little girl standing in front of a wolf demon. "I won't let you hurt him." She had her arms out in a protective manor. "If the brat won't move maybe a little injury might make her change her mind." A man with a bow shot the girl in the shoulder. My eyes widened 'that little girl is me!' I reached up and felt the scar on my left shoulder. The younger me didn't leave the spot in front of the demon. "Ugh will someone go move that girl!" As one man stepped forward my younger self pulled out one of my fans and popped the blades open. "Come any farther and I will slit your throats." The man stopped in his tracks with his hands up. A woman hobbled her way to the crowd. "I wouldn't go near her if I were you." The crowd turned to her "if she trusts him then we should to, my daughter has excellent judge of character." The group started to leave and the wolf demon spoke "this girl Nina will forever be a part of my pack and protected by the wolf demons of the east." 'That voice? That's Koga's voice!' He smiled at my younger self and my mother started walking away. "Remember if you ever need us we are in the cave behind the waterfall."
End of dream
I woke up in a cold sweat and reached for my left shoulder. The mutt walked over to me. "Bad dream?" I shook my head. "No just a memory of long ago."
