I woke up confused. I got up from the ground and, when I really looked around I realized that I was in the middle of a wood.
I looked to the ground and there was Sophia.
- Sophia, wake up! Sophia?
I needed to shake her a little bit and finally she woke up.
- What happened, Edmund? What was that light? ... Wait, where are we?
Poor Sophia, she had no idea. but I knew what was happening and where we were. My only question was "Why?".
She was full of questions and was getting scared, actually. I started from the beginning, telling her the basic about Narnia, my siblings and I, Caspian, Eustace, and more important, Aslan. When I finished, I thought she would call me crazy and get more scared than before. But she was understanding and accepting everything. She was believing in me.
- Wow! This is a great story for a book! - she said, smiling.
I laughed.
It was already night, so I looked around and thought it would be better to sleep in that placy any way, and wait for the morning so we could go to Cair Paravel.
Laying down to the floor, looking up to the sky, we were in silence. A short silence.
- What a crazy thing! - Sophia said.
- What?
- All of this. ... But I believe! - it made me smile.
- Sorry for putting you in this situation! I don't have idea of why we are here, of why we were called, you know, as I told you, Aslan himself said that I would never come back. And everytime someone is called to Narnia, is because something bad is happening. So I don't know in under what conditions is Narnia and I don't even know how much time has passed since I left and...
- It's ok, Edmund. With everything you told me, I believe that you know what's the best decision to make. - she said.
- Thanks for the vote of confidence!
We talked a little bit more, about our lives in London, and about Narnia. In the end, we were knowing each other better, and Sophia was knowing many things about Narnia.
Soon, we were falling asleep. Well, just Sophia. I stayed awake all night, almost, because I was worried about what we could find by morning (or what could find us right there in the woods).
Sophia was lying on the grass, on my side, but on the back. I was lying too, with hands on my neck. I looked the stars and started to think in Aslan.
I whispered:
- Aslan, what is happening this time? I don't understand. And Sophia is with me. Why did she come too?
I felt a breath on my face and heard a whisper on my ear.
- Be still, son of mine!
Soon I fell asleep.
-------------------------------------------------------------
We woke up that morning and then go out looking for the exit toward Cair Paravel. "Oh, how we have to walk!", I regretted to myself.
Later, still in long walks, Sophia asked:
- We're coming?
- To be honest, I believe that we are not even halfway ...
A noise ahead made me stop.
- What was this?
- Shhh! - I did.
The noise came back and looked like the gallop of a horse, or rather, horses.
- Come, let's hide there. - I said, and went back some trees that had along the way.
The noise was approaching, and you could hear a conversation now.
- I know that voice ...
- Do you? - Sophia said.
- Yes!
I left behind the tree and to my happiness, was someone I knew well.
- Edmund?
- Caspian!
- Edmund, dear brother! - He said, down from the horse, and coming toward me, giving me a big hug.
- I do not believe! I thought I would never see him again!
After the talk, I presented Sophia, Caspian introduced me to the centaur who accompanied him (Lopez was his name). And finally we direct us together to Cair Paravel: Sophia mounted Lopez and I on the same horse that Caspain.
Caspian had been confused by the fact that Sophia, someone I just met, have come to Narnia with me.
- Well, I guess I'll never understand the plans of Aslan! - He said, shaking his head.
