Once again keep in mind that I  have yet do any editing. Sorry for any errors, I'll get to them later.

Ashley's POV

"Ash your 1:30 is here."

"Thanks Jenna. Two questions. Are all of the ladies here? Did the package from Morgan & Scott arrive yet and where are we on that restraining on for Thatcher's husband? I spluttered out all at once. Damn I wish I hadn't dropped my coffee on the "L" this morning. Wasting Starbucks should be a sin.

"Okay, one that was three questions not that you really care. Second, yes the packaged arrived an hour ago, Judge Malone signed the restraining order today and third, I just said your 1:30 was here. That meant everyone." Her tone dripped with tons of sarcasm laced with a bit of annoyance. But that was Jenna. We'd been friends since we were kids; inseparable. In school she was popular, the epitome of every guy's fantasy girl. Beautiful, 5'9, long legged blonde-haired beauty. The total package. She had no problems making friends or being the center of attention. In fact she thrived on it. We weren't exactly total opposites we just differed a lot, especially when it came to the subjects of attention and guys. Unlike her, I on the other hand was more into academics. I actually hated attention. Don't get me wrong I'm from unattractive and didn't mind going out to clubs when Jenna dragged me out and that's not me being conceited. I appreciate what I have and now how to work it, but that doesn't mean like being ogled. Having a fashion icon for a mother and a Supreme Court judge for a stepfather, taught me early on how to be confident or at least how to fake it when it feel confident. It also taught me how to tolerate being around tons of people. Shockingly enough, I'm an introvert who had to learn how to be extroverted. God knows I had to get used to having all those eyes on me every time I enter the court room.

"It's too early for your sarcasm. Get me a coffee please, I dropped mine on the subway and you know how I get without coffee." I sighed.

"Are you serious? It's never too early for sarcasm and why do you take the damn subway, you know you could actually hire driver. It's not like you can't afford it. God knows you never really touch the money you make anyways."

"Jenna, focus. Coffee, now please. I need to get that meeting started. You can scrutinize my life later."

"Yea, yea, yea. I'll get you that coffee, only because you asked so sweetly. And bet your sweet butt I'll remind you that you said that. "

"Thanks babe."

The walk to the conference room wasn't long. I had to make a quick pit stop by Jenna's desk to pick up the final document sent over from Morgan & Scott containing the settlement they wanted. I closely examined everything. Well I'll be damned. Closing the files, I continued my walk to the conference room, deciding how to best deliver the news to my clients.

"Good afternoon ladies, I hope you haven't been waiting too long."

"No" replied Ms. Blake. Silvia just got here."

I equally greeted the other two ladies in the room, "Ms. Jennings, Ms. Santiago hello. Ladies, I don't want to take up anymore of your time than I have to so let's get started."

"That's a first, a lawyer worried about how much our time they're using. Don't they normally bill us for it?"

"Ms. Jennings, as you know I didn't take your case for the money. I have enough of that already. I took your case because you were targeted by a sleaze ball who used is his power and position to hurt and oppress you. One who not only verbally harmed you three but physically harmed you as well. That guy, because I won't call him a man, black listed each of you and left you with scars that may take a lifetime to heal. If at any time you feel that I am misrepresenting you please feel free to leave and hiring another attorney. I understand you are frustrated with the system but do not damn those who are helping you. Remember, I'm good at what I do and I get the job done each time."

"That's why we wanted you to represent us." Ms. Santiago voiced. "You didn't care that we didn't have money to hire you, you didn't judge us or doubt what we were saying. You believed in us and we believe in what you can do. There is a reason they call you a shark in the courtroom."

A small smile graced my face at the mention of that name. Jenna was the idiot who came up with that name. God I love her sometimes. Though I can't say that I blame her for the little nickname. When I'm in the courtroom I'm a completely different person. When I smell blood I go for the kill.

"Iliana is right Ms. Karr. We believe you are the best suited for the job. What do you have for us today?"

At that, a giant smile graced my face at my reply, "Above and beyond what you asked for."

"Ash come on, tell me how you agreed to get them to settle on that deal. I mean this is Morgan & Scott we are talking about. They don't settle. I mean I know your good girl but damn, How in the hell did you pull this one off."

Chuckling, "Jenna, are you doubting my skills girl? I think I may have both scared and taught their top lawyer Keith a lesson. I bet he'll think twice about dictation terms to me again. Second, the girls never had an issue with M &S themselves just Robert (Bob) Monroe. M &S has agreed to work with us in any and all aspects pertaining to this case. They given the ladies a large settlement and rehired them back into the company. It wasn't them necessarily being generous Jenna, that is the least they could have don't for these ladies. But it doesn't touch all the other added benefits the ladies now have."

"How much of that was due to your charm or your threat to disembowel them in court if they didn't comply with your wishes."

"Now Jenna, when have I ever threatened anyone," I said with added sweetness.

"This morning with you threatened to toss my skinny as off out the building if I didn't get your precious Starbuck in 10 minutes." She said completely straight faced and serious.

"Oh that wasn't a threat, it was a verbal promise. No one comes between me and my coffee, not even you."

"Anyway, I thought that since it's the weekend we should celebrate your victory. We are going out!"

"I'd really rather stay in bed and read or catch up on some Netflix. I'm tried Jen."

"Why is it always excuses with you? You know that's not healthy, hell I don't know how you've lasted so long in this world. You know what they say all work and no play, it makes one angry....

."I still have to get a lot done."

"Your work will still be there when you get back. Come on one night of fun. Leave the attorney at the office and give me my fun, sexy carefree best friend for one night."

"What do you have planned?"

"We're going dancing, I'm picking out your outfit and doing your hair. Don't bother arguing with me, you know it's pointless."

She's right when her eyes start glowing like that its best to just give in. "Fine, do your worse. Just don't make me look sluty."

"You may thrive in the court room Ms. Karr but this is where I shine, you will be stunning and we will have a blast I promise. What's the worst that could happen?"
