Recap

Ouch

Jace, gave me a light pinch. "Aloud sweetheart, no private conversations."

Jenna snorted, "Like you and Braxton weren't just having one of your own. I can feel the wave length as well."

Braxton chuckled, "She's got you there Jace."

"Fine, Jenna. But you have to tell me everything that you can and point me to someone who can answer the questions you can't." I added that last bit knowing that somehow it might help her around that "gag order".

She smiled, "Smart girl. Sometimes you're too smart for your own good Ash. One of these days you are going to wish I hadn't told you anything." She sighed "To answer your question Ash, Jace and Braxton here are werewolves as they've stated."

"And you? What are you Jenna?"

"I am fae." She said as her eyes took on a violet green color.

Ashley's POV

Jenna: Look Ash, I know you're probably still mad about everything but I honestly don't like this at all. Besides you have that meeting with M&S and I really think I should be there.

Ashley: Jenna, you of all people know how hectic my schedule is at the moment. I can't afford to send some random assistant there to gather all the information I need and take care of those documents. That alone should be a testament as to how much I trust you. No one else would be able to handle this like you. I need you where you are Jenna.

Jenna: Fine, but I still don't like this. And why aren't you answering any of my calls. The only way I can get a hold of you is through text.

Ashley: You're being overdramatic.

Jenna: No, I'm not! Why aren't you responding to my calls?

Ashley: Seriously Jenna? Can we please not argue over our form of communication? I'm not avoiding you, I haven't had my coffee this morning, and I need to get ready for this meeting. Text/call me later when you've spoken to Steinberg.

Setting my phone aside, I reach over to grab my delicious cup of coffee. Yes, I lied. Yum, at least some things stay the same. Thinking back over my conversation with Jenna, I had to admit to myself that she was right about one thing at least. I was avoiding her. But not just her, Jace too. Things have still been a little off since our last meeting and knowing Jenna, if she and I spoke she would hear everything I wasn't saying in my voice and I personally can't deal with that right now. No, this is just an easy temporary fix. She can't tell I'm lying if she can't hear my voice. She can't hear my voice if I continue to ignore her calls.

Ring, ring, ring.

"Speaking of the devil," I say sighing. I'm still not sure how exactly he'd gotten my number but once again I swiped left, ignored his call and sent him straight to voicemail. Not that I had any plans of listening to it at any point in time.

"Ms. Karr?"

Hitting the intercom button, "Yes, Carlie?" I said to my new temporary assistant.

"Ms. Karr, the car should be out front in about 15mins and there's a packages that's been delivered for you as well, except the deliveryman is under strict orders to have you specifically sign for them."

Already knowing the answer I ask her anyway. "Whose it from?"

"I'm not exactly sure." She says whispering into the phone. "This is the most professional deliveryman I've ever seen. He's dressed in a three piece suit and looks like a Calvin Klein model. Should I send him away?"
