There are a few new characters I'm super excited for!"Yo Luke where's the party at?" I say.
"Calum Thomas Hood, are you talking to me on the phone while driving?" Luke sternly asks.
"Of course not, mother." I chuckle.
"Foreal mate, you could wreck."
"Don't worry I have my phone connected to my car, so it's handsfree. The call is coming from my speakers right now."
"What a relief." Luke laughs.
"So who's house? I've been driving in circles waiting for you to answer."
"Oh Josh's."
"I'd hate to be that guy."
"Me too." Luke says as we laugh.
"Okay well I'm headed there now."
"Yeah me too. See you there."
I hang up and shake my head, Poor Josh. It is tradition to make a one of the new freshman football players have the party at their house. It sucks for them because they have to hope there parents don't find out or the cops get called. Even if they do get away with it, its a hell of a mess to clean up the next day. I pull up to Josh's house struggling to find a parking spot. Once I finally find one, Luke pulls up next to me.
"Hey Mate. Any trouble at the store?" I say to Luke as we both get out.
"Nah. What about you? Did you get the stuff?" Luke says to me as we head up towards the house blaring music.
"He is meeting me here. I'm gonna find him when we get in there."
We get into the house already pushing past people. Once we get into the kitchen, I decide to go find him.
"I'll set up here, while you go." Lukes yells above the music.
"Alright bro, catch you later."
We shake hands and I walk out the back door knowing where he usually hangs out, and what do you know there he is with his band of misfits. He is the bad boy in town and is the supplier of green. We aren't best buds but we are cool. We have a respect for each other I call him when I need his help, and he calls when he needs mine. we don't really talk any other time, but he's a chill guy.
"Calum." He says as I walk up.
"Micheal." We laugh and shake hands.
"How much this time?" He says grabbing in his backpack.
"Dime."
"That'll be $15." He grins and hands the bag to me.
"Thanks bro, I'll come back if I need more."
When I get back into the kitchen Luke hands me a beer. We go into the den in the back of the house where it is quieter and barely anyone chills. Luke and I sit on the couch, smoke, and watch some guys play pool. Since Veronica isn't coming tonight due to 'shopping' reasons, I can just chill and drink and smoke as much as I want. Plus I don't have to go dance with her the whole time and fight, I can hangout with my friends. I look up as Luke stands to hug his girlfriend, I give her a smile and stand to hug her myself. I look past her and see Jayme getting herself a drink.
"Hey Baby." Lukes says to Mikayla as he kisses her.
They are the type of couple that have been together forever. They have been together since the summer before freshman year. I'm not gonna say their relationship has been perfect, but they have never broken up. She is good for Luke, takes care of him, and always strives for his dreams and goals. Luke hasn't always treated her right, but I don't worry about her. Mikayla keeps him in line, and makes sure she is treated right. That is the past though, now they are happy and on very good terms. Luke actually bought her a promise ring last week, but hasn't gave it to her yet. I know all of this because I've been there when all this happened and Luke and I tell each other everything. He is head over heels for that girl. I wish Veronica and I could click like they do.
"Jayme!" Mikayla calls her over.
"This is my boyfriend Luke." Mikayla introduces them.
Luke shakes her hand, "Hey, nice to meet you."
Mikayla motions to me, "And this is his bestfriend Ca-"
I interrupt her, "We've met."
I smile at Jayme and she smiles back, "Nice to see you again Jayme."
"Same to you." she smiles shyly.
Mikayla winks at me and pulls Luke away. She knows I have a girlfriend, but she hates Veronica. She also knows a lot about our relationship because we are extremely close.
"So what are you doing here?" I ask her.
"Well Mikayla insisted that I go"
"Making friends fast I see"
"Yeah me and Mikayla have art together and math, English, and yearbook."
"Well I am glad, Mikayla is good people."
"So far yes, I really like her."
"So how was your first day?"
She laughs, "Well I didn't get lost thanks to you, but I had a pretty great day. Everybody was welcoming and nice."
"Good, good. I'm glad that I could help and that everything went well."
"So should we go find them?" she asks.
no. "yeah they should be in the kitchen or the dancefloor, Mikayla loves to dance."
"What about you Calum? Are you a dancer yourself?" she smirks at me.
I laugh, "Me the dance type? Hardly. But what about you?"
She laughs also, "Not unless its just me in my bedroom jamming out to my favorite bands."
Before we know it we are in the kitchen, Luke and Mikayla laughing at each other.
"Shot." Mikayla demands luke.
"No baby, we've already had 6."
"you are right we need to go home tonight, a little conscious." she smirks at him.
Mikayla has her own place, which is pretty much her and Luke's, Because Luke is there all the time. She is older than Luke, she graduates this year, has a good job and pays for most everything herself. She moved out on her own, because her parents don't respect her wishes.
She notices us and smiles, "Shots?"
I look towards Jayme and she looks at me. "Nah I'm good." jayme says.
"Oh hell i'll have a few" I smile and pour myself two.
