Third Person P. O. V.
Dumbledore looked up at Fawkes. He was busy writing to the current minister about the killings that had been happening. The Pheonix had been looking quite old, she was no longer her striking fiery red colour and it was about time for her to burn. As if reading Dumbledore's mind, Fawkes erupted into flames. As the ash cooled, Dumbledore walked over the Fawkes' stand. The baby pheonix popped her head out of the ashes and hiccuped.
Dumbledore chuckled. She had just turned into a flame ball and then a tiny bird and all she did was hiccup?
Dumbledore reached towards Fawkes, picked her up and placed her on her perch. He then set about getting bottles to put Fawkes' ash in to give to Professor Slughorn. Pheonix ashes were essential in several potions and Fawkes' ashes generally went towards Madam Pomfrey's pepper up concoction. Dumbledore smiled, it made sense because pheonixes burst into flames and the pepper up potion made smoke come out of students ears.
Dumbledore aproached Fawkes with a few bottles but was suprised when Fawkes flew at the bottles. He raised his eyebrows. Pheonixes always wanted their ashes used for some purpose - unless - no.
Dumbledore looked at the ashes, they were moving. They were coming together. A baby sat up, formed by the ashes and the smoldering flecks clothed her.
Dumbledore stared at the child she had flaming red and orange hair. She had golden eyes like Fawkes and was chirruping like Fawkes. Dumbledore lifted the baby girl out or the 'burning bowl' and sat her down on her desk. Fawkes was not taking her eyes of the child - well her child and was watching Dumbledore's every move. Fawkes knew that her child was safe with Dumbledore who would protect the baby continuesly.
Dumbledore knew what he was going to do. The child would have to stay with Fawkes because this baby was Fawkes' child.
