I own nothing and no one apart from ' the pheonix girl ' and maybe a few other characters I might create.
Cassy Dumbledore P. O. V.
It was the morning of Christmas. I woke up and remembered what day it was. I quietly jumped out of bed and caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. My face had a slight purple tinge and one of my hands was bright blue. My hair was purple at the bottom. Me, Sirius, James, Peter and sometimes Remus were still in war.
James had half a green face and partly red hair. His eyebrows had been turned purple and whenever he spoke he hiccuped.
Sirius had orange highlights in his hair and his forhead was purple. One eyebrow had turned had been pink and his front teeth had been turned blue.
Peter's hair had turned green and his front teeth had been pointed outwards even more, making him look like a rat. Whenever he spoke he squeaked at the start of his sentences.
I had not been that mean to Remus and he only had navy blue highlights in his hair and his eyebrows had been turned yellow.
What everyone found strange was that we were perfectly comfortable with our appearances and didn't try to hide away. James and Sirius were always the loudest at the gryfindoor table along with Peter and Remus who most of the time had his nose stuck in a book.
I was also loud and raucous. Lily and me were best friends and I got along with all the girls in my dorm.
I was jerked back to the dorm from my train of thought when one of the girls snorted in their sleep.
I slowly and slyly made my way quietly to Lily's bed. (I should be in Slytherin) I bent down so my mouth way right next to Lily's ear.
"IT'S CHRISTMAS!" I yelled and she sat bolt upright and stared around at me.
"Cass!" She grumbled. "I'm trying to sleeeep!"
"But it's Christmas" I whined.
"Presents, food, decorations, mistletoe -you better be careful, you might be snogged by James if your not careful."
She snorted, wide awake now.
"I will never get snogged by Potter. I don't want to get toe rag disease."
"Well it is tradition if a witch and wizard are under mistletoe they have to kiss." I teased her.
"Whatever. Just stay away from Black because apparently he practically ensures that there is mistletoe above him wherever he goes. He's had eleven girlfriends so far and it's not even been a year." She told me.
"Ew like I would go near that fat head." I said indignantly.
"Ha looks like we have that in common" She smiled, "presents?"
"might as well." I replied and we both ran down to the common room.
Lily got me a beautiful silver charm bracelet and the girls in our dorm had each got me a charm. I had given them each a pair of matching bracelets and earing with red and gold stones and feathers. I had also gotten Lily a charmed hot chocolate mug that always has her favourite hot chocolate ready for her to drink. Uncle Albus had gotten me a beautiful red necklace and a pheonix charm, he must have known I would get a charm bracelet. I had gotten him seven pairs of wooly, thick socks. They each had a day of the week embroidered on them and a message that I paid the shop keeper to sew: To Uncle Albus, I hope you have a great Christmas, (don't read too much) and give yourself a break at writing to the prime minister. Enjoy these fluffy warm socks.
From your best girl,
Cassy. My mother had gotten me a hair decoration. It was gold with rubys and had been carefully twisted and swirled into a beautiful pattern. I put it on and then looked at them mirror. My hair had started to gently rustle and move as if a wind was blowing through it.
To my surprise, James, Sirius, Remus and Peter had got me some stuff. When in a wizards pranking war it was traditional to give something to the 'enemy' at celebrations but I didn't expect them to. I had given James and Sirius some prank powder that I charmed so it would change colour. Peter had gotten a pair of toy bunny ears that would make real bunny ears grow from your head and wouldn't come off for several hours. I gave Remus a new book about magical creatures, because we technically weren't at war but I slipped in some invisible chalk to honour 'tradition'.
I opened my gift from James and found a quil that would only write insults. From Peter I got a ring that would shock someone if they put it on. Remus got me a book about herbology plants and the parts they play in pranks which included a load of recipes. Sirius had gotten me a pretty wooden perch for Jason, but to honour 'tradition' he had made the perch area hollow and put a load of chocolates that made the eater turn into a sparrow for several seconds. I made a mental note never to eat anything that any of the boys gave me boys gave me again because me turning into another kind of bird would be bad and I would probably burst into flames and not stop for a couple of hours.I looked at Lily and smiled. "Do you wanna go have breakfast?" I asked.
"Definitely!" She replied enthusiastically and we walked, arm in arm down to the great hall.
On the way down we met peeves. I liked him and he liked me. I went up to him, stopped him doing roly-polys in mid air and whispered something in his ear. He grinned as I passed him a bucket that I had brought down from the common room.
I walked back to Lily and we skipped off innocently to the great hall. As we left, I turned my head and yelled: "Remember to say Merry Christmas from Cassy!"Half an hour later, me and Lily were eating pankakes with chocolate spread when the great hall doors burst open. Standing in the doorway were four terrifying creatures. The whole hall went silent. The creatures squelched up the isles between the tables and growled at loads of people. They curled their fingers and made a beeline for the grifindoor table. The greeny yellow, squelchy, terrifying creatures were: James, Sirius, Remus and Peter after peeves had poured a load of paint over them.
I started laughing. The room rang with my laughter. I looked around, everyone was shocked. I looked at the teachers and Uncle Albus and noticed that some of them were trying not to smile.
James walked up to me and sat down in the empty seat and was followed by the rest of the wet green slimy monsters.
"Happy Christmas to you too Cass" Sirius said humourlessly and I started laughing again.
Everyone was staring at the boys but I felt a gaze on the back of my head. I looked round. Everyone had gone back to eating but when my eyes drifted to the Slytherin table I saw a boy who was still staring at me.
He had shoulder length black hair and a hooked nose. As I raised my eyebrows at him he looked away.
I turned back to the slimy things in front of me.
"Your such a slytherin Cassy!" James said. I smiled and raised an eyebrow.
'Nah that's an insult to the Slytherins!" Sirius laughed.
Remus looked at me.
"As all these two are gonna do is throw insults at you, will you please remove this stuff off me" He asked.
"Me too!" Peter piped up.
I grinned and seconds later, not a drop of paint was on Remus or Peter while James and Sirius just looked at me.
"You know you love us..." James started.
"Yeah..." I asked, mimicking his whiney voice.
"Well.." Started Sirius, pulling puppy eyes, (they worked, must be because he's such a dog with manners and is a mutt at heart.)
"Yeah..." I repeated then I laughed. "Fine" and suddenly they had no paint on them.I spent the rest of my day with Lily in a snowball fight. Then I went to see Uncle Albus and went for a fly and talk with my mother.
We soured around the grounds and were back in time for Christmas dinner.
"Where have you been?" Lily asked me.
"With my uncle." I lied.
"Ok but the feast is about to start." She said and we ran down to the great hall.
The magnificent feast was soon over and everyone got up and went to their dorms. I slowly fell asleep and dreamt of the great day I had...
