the premiere of regretting you was everything and more

the premiere of regretting you was everything and more. the lights, the cameras, the crowd—it was overwhelming in the best way possible. starr had been to big events before, but nothing quite like this. nothing that felt so... personal. because this wasn't just a career milestone. this was their moment.

she and mason stepped onto the red carpet together, his hand resting lightly against her back, guiding her forward like he was the one keeping her grounded. it felt surreal. only a few weeks ago, they'd barely been on speaking terms, and now? now they were here. together.

"are you ready for this?" mason murmured, leaning in close as cameras flashed around them.

starr smirked. "oh, absolutely not."

he chuckled, squeezing her waist briefly before they were pulled into their first interview.

"starr, mason, you both look incredible tonight! congratulations on the movie. now, obviously, the past few weeks have been eventful to say the least—" the interviewer started, giving them a pointed look. "what can you tell us about everything that's been going on?"

starr and mason exchanged a glance. they'd prepared for this. there was no way they'd let the drama overshadow the premiere.

mason was the first to speak, smooth and effortless. "i think the past few weeks have been, uh, eye-opening. but at the end of the day, we're here for the movie. that's what really matters."

starr nodded, picking up seamlessly. "yeah, exactly. we're just really proud of the work we've done, and we're excited for everyone to see it."

short. professional. clean.

"and the two of you—this is a big night for you as a couple. anything you want to say about that? "

starr raised a brow, pretending to think, smirking. "hmm... no, i think we'll just let the internet figure that one out."

mason grinned. "they're scarily good at it."

and with that, they moved on, leaving the interviewer laughing behind them.

as they made their way further down the carpet, familiar faces popped up everywhere. kairi was the first to find them, practically tackling starr in excitement. "oh my god, you look insane. like, actually ridiculous."

starr grinned, hugging her back. "you too! where's your date?"

"over there being useless," kairi said, jerking her head toward some poor guy struggling with his suit jacket. "but we'll circle back to that."

before starr could reply, a new voice cut in. "oh, so this is the famous starr?"

she turned to see none other than chris hemsworth standing there, smiling like they'd known each other for years. her brain short-circuited for a second. thats.. chris hemsworth.. thor was standing in front of her. she feels light-headed but still plasters a smile on her face.

mason, the traitor, just smirked. "yep, that's her."

chris hummed. "mason never shuts up about you on our groupchat."

starr snapped her head toward mason. "oh?"

mason coughed, suddenly very interested in the ground. "that is... an exaggeration."

chris gave her a knowing look. "yeah, sure." then, with a grin, he clapped mason on the back and disappeared into the crowd. "congrats on the movie guys!"

starr turned back to mason, smirking. "wouldn't shut up about me, huh?"

he groaned. "ignore him."

"oh we're definitely circling back to that later. but hello? i just met thor! he's even hotter in person-"

"is it really that big of a deal though, i mean you're apart of the mcu anyway-" mason starts, in a teasing voice.

before she could retort, another familiar voice rang out. "finally! there you are."

she turned to see matt, nick, and chris sturniolo making their way over, cameras flashing behind them as they moved. matt, as usual, looked like he wanted to be anywhere else. chris, on the other hand, was thriving.

"this is so crazy," chris said, looking around. "we're at a movie premiere. like, a real one."

"technically, we're at her movie premiere," nick pointed out, nudging starr.

she laughed. "you're welcome."

matt, finally speaking, shook his head. "nah, this is wild. like, actually insane. you're, like, a real actress."

mason snorted. "took you this long to realise?"

matt shrugged. "listen, i knew she was talented, but seeing it like this? different level."

starr rolled her eyes but smiled. "glad to impress."

more people came and went, some stopping for pictures, others just passing by with quick congratulations. but through it all, mason never strayed too far. his hand always found hers, his touch grounding, steady. it was a silent reassurance that they were in this together.

as they reached the end of the carpet, he leaned in, voice low. "we really pulled this off, huh?"

she squeezed his hand. "yeah. we did."

and as they stepped into the theatre, ready to watch their movie on the big screen for the first time, she realised something else.

this wasn't just the end of a chapter.

it was the start of something new.

it was the start of something new
