Author's Note (March 18, Tuesday, 2025)

Here's to another chapter coming out. Not as soon as I wanted yet not that much later either.

More chapters may not come out that much sooner after this.

It's at this point having knowledge on Mari's bond stories and the main story (Volume 3 to be exact for this and the next few chapters) would aid in the understanding of the ADS story, although not quite necessary.

There will be no spoilers for those that haven't. At the least, there are implications.

"There we go. All done."

The soft features on Mari's face that had been focused on her task finally relaxed as she finished her morning tasks as a one of many new recruits of the Sisterhood; watering all the ground-level flower beds placed around the cathedral.

Her lips shaped into a small smile, feeling satisfied as much as she was delighted. Bringing her watering can back, she observed the flower beds. They glistened as they absorbed the hydration. Mari ensured that she didn't overdo her watering as to not oversaturate the soil.

There was a flower bed in the back of the cathedral that had been recently placed. The Sisterhood's own private park was just nearby.

A Sister, Arin, was currently tending to it. Her hair was neck-length long, black, and her halo was a perfect round, thin solid white ring with a smaller but equally thin ring inside which hovered close to the larger ring. Two pairs of leaves bonded together were positioned near the bottom of the inner ring.

Unlike Mari's veil, which was tailored to accommodate her own cat ears, Arin, as did most other Sisters, had the standard normal veil design with white coif at the rim, which slightly covered the top of their heads.

Mari headed over. "Arin. How is the growth of the flowers going?"

"There's a lot of progress to be made. Small buds seem to be sprouting from the soil." The Sister looked into the flower bed intently. "I've been following the guide book Sister Sakurako gave me."

"I have, too. I was the one who did this other half."

"I sure hope I didn't mess anything up..." Arin said, now staring at the soil. "I know it's just flowers, but..."

"Did she say something to you?"

Arin turned to her peer. "Nothing exactly out of the ordinary. It's just that...when she instructed me to help in tending with the new flower bed...she just had this scary look on her face."

Mari immediately had pity for her fellow member. "Y-Yes. I have realized she can be like that. Even Miya has been on the receiving end of it."

"Do you mean when she was brought to the shooting range alone with Sakurako?"
