A woman's work is never done,
her life is one big chore.
A cook, a cleaner and mother too,
her roles are these and more.
She irons, bakes and makes the beds
as hubby snores away,
alright for him to count his sheep
and while away the day.
And if that wasn't quite enough
her little cherub Bess
throws all her toys out of the box
and makes an awful mess.
She calls for hubby to clear it up
but he's gone off to the bog,
he returns downstairs expecting dinner
but it's now in the dog.
Now little Timmy feels ignored
so gets in on the act,
he smears the cat with marmalade
and earns himself a smack.
She feels the burden of her chores
and it's all just got too much,
her lovely once so tidy house
has lost it's "woman's touch."
By now poor mum has lost her cool
as she watches chaos reign,
she takes some pills to calm her nerves
and hopefully keep her sane.
The pills kick in and take effect
and mum begins to grin,
she's headed for a bubble bath
and taking her bottle of gin.
