Everyone Deserves A Happy Ending **In Editing**

Chapter 9

*In the middle of the night*

When I woke up, it was dark and Ashley was holding on to me tightly. I remembered what happened, their picture flashed back to my mind, the sense of the accident on the TV. Tears rolled down my cheeks. I squeezed my eyes tightly closed, trying to forget the memory. I didn't fall back asleep that night. I just pretended I was asleep. I felt Ashley get up out of bed and I smelled coffee being made. I pulled the covers over my head. I heard the guys walk out into the living room. They were talking quietly about me and my grandparents.

"I can't believe Rie's grandparents are dead...." Jake said.

"I know....Do you think social services will come after her?" CC asked.

"Probably, she technically is still living with them right now. She will be considered a run away and they will take her away from us and put her into foster care." Jinxx said.

"We just can't tell her." Andy said. It was quiet. I heard the TV flip on again. I listened to the reporter.

"We have found out the Raylee Payne has lived with her grandparents, Bob and Barbara. The police went to the house they were claimed to live in, but no one was there and most of Raylee's clothes were missing. She is assumed to have run away. If you know anything on her, please call this number and report anything you know." I cried myself to sleep again. When I woke, up I was screaming and my face was streaked with tears. Ashley was shaking my shoulders and calling my name. I wrapped my arms around his neck. After a while, I let go of him and got my clothes to take a shower. When I came out, I sat next to Ashley and laid my head on his shoulder. He put his arm around me and I watched whatever was on.

*The next 3 days*

Over the next 3 days, I was distant. I thought so many times about cutting, but I didn't. I was sitting on the couch watching TV and the guys were in the bunks or kitchen. Except Jinxx. He was sitting on the couch across from me. He was texting. There was a knock on the door. I got up and walked to the door, Jinxx watching my every move. I opened the door and saw 2 cops.

"Are you Raylee Payne?"

Jinxx had now come up behind me. "Well what if she is?"

"Are you aware your grandparents have been killed in a car accident. Since you have run away, we will need to bring you back and since you aren't yet 18, you will be put into foster care." Tears sprang to my eyes and I backed up. Ashley walked into the room with Andy, CC and Jake trailing behind.

"Whats going on?" Ashley asked concerned.

"Th-th-they want t-to t-t-take me to foster c-care. Away f-from you g-guys!" I turned and hugged Ashley and cried "Don't let them take me!!!" He hugged me and rocked me back and forth and walked to the door and spoke to the cops.

"Officers. There are 5 of us here, one of us is almost 20, most of us are 19 or almost 19 and and some of us are 18. We are all old enough to take care of her. Can't she stay with us?"

"I'm sorry sir, but you are 5 guys. You would over power her and how do we know that behind closed doors you don't rape her?"

Ashley was speechless.

"We don't. Exactly. She will have to come with us." I felt one of them put a hand on my shoulder to pry me away from Ashley and I screamed and held on tighter. It took both of them to pry me off of Ashley. I was screaming "Don't let them take me!!!" They were powerless and Ashley tried to come after me, but the guys had to hold him back. I was put into the back of a police car and they drove. I sat crying in the back.

*Later that day*

I laid on my bed in the room which I had to myself because no one else had occupied it. Yet. I turned on the TV.

"Raylee Payne has been found. She was found living with 5 guys. They are known as Black Veil Brides. The ones known as Ashley and Jeremy Ferguson, or Jinxx, confronted the police officers and tried to persuade them to not take Raylee away. When that didn't work, Raylee clung to Ashley and was reported to have been screaming and crying while the police officers pried her off and put her in the back of the police cruiser. We have Ashley here now to report what happened." The camera moved over and showed Ashley. His face looked red and his eyes looked bloodshot. "So Mr. Purdy, is this true?"

He spoke, his voice shaky. "Yes. It is true that I and Jinxx tried to talk to officers into letting Rie stay. We love her like a sister, we consider her part of the family and would do anything to protect her." I cried at his words. I missed him and the others so much. The camera went off Ashley and showed the reporter.

"Well isn't that touching. We will be back after the commercial break to report an apartment building that has burned down." The TV went to commercial and I turned it off. Everything I had, had been left on the bus. I had been giving a pencil and paper, a few pairs of clothes and my cell phone, which had been in my pocket had been taken away. I laid down and locked my door, even though it was against regulations. I softly cried myself to sleep, ignoring the knocking at my door calling me down for dinner. I dreamed of Ashley and everyone else, but Ashley the most. I knew I was crying in my dreams and in real life. I could feel my face streaked with tears.
