Sam walked toward the mountain through the town. Everyone stopped and stared at the heap of body under the trench coat. Sam's mother was beside him crying under her hooded coat.

"We're almost there." He whispered to his mother.

"Where?"

"To the mountain." When he said that a few people looked at him in surprise. He briskly started walking to the mountain.

Once they got out of the town area, Sam started to run fast. They were almost there when blue smoke started coming out of Riley's mouth.

"Just a bit longer Riley, hold on."
Sam said as he sprinted up the mountain.

"What's happening to her?!?!" His mother worried.

"Her shifter abilities are leaving her but she will come back to life afterwards very injured. We might be able to catch it and give it back to her, but that's all I know of" Sam said quickly. Once they reached the platform at the top, he set her down and ran to her bag.

He reached in and pulled out an empty jar and ran to Riley's side. Blue smoke started coming from her mouth and floating into the air. He caught all of the smoke inside the jar and Riley's eyes opened. She started gasping for air and coughing up blood

"Get the bullet out of me now!" Riley shouted the clenched teeth.

"With what?"Sam said back.

She groaned painfully, "Become like a-a-a pelican or something with a beak!"

"Ok!" Sam said and he shifted into a pelican. Sam reached inside her wound and pulled out the bullet. Sam shifted back to his normal look.

"Wait before you do anything else I need to show you something." Their mother said. She shifted into a man with blue eyes, black hair, and brown skin much like what both and the kids looked like.

"I'm really your father. Your mother died two months ago. Oh it's so great to see you again." Sam and Riley both were confused and scared.

"But your dead." Riley said painfully.

"That's what you thought."their father said.

"You need to come with me."

"Where? Nowhere else these days are safe!" Riley said a bit too loud.

"Here give the jar to me."Sam handed the jar to his father who dropped his ring on the lid and put it in the jar and shook it.

The ring turned blue and it glowed for a few seconds, then turned back to the wooden ring. The smoke inside the jar turned to a blue liquid and did not float away.

"Drink this. Your Shapeshifting ability will come back but not for a while. You might experience some differences in what types of animals you like." Riley drank down the liquid and had a face of disgust.

The wound on her chest started to heal instantly.

"You know what I really like dogs now!" Riley excitedly said.
