Riley got the next morning to try out her shifting ability. She thought real hard of dog but nothing happened. She tried again, but still nothing. She wondered if her ability was gone for good but until she can shift again, she was a normal human being. She must have grunting when she attempted to shift because her father was awakening.
"Goooood morning!" Riley said enthusiastically.
"Hia." Her father grumbled back to her.
"What are we talking about?" Sam asked sleepily.
"We should probably get a move on, to get a head start from the chasers." Riley said to both of the sleepy boys.
"Where should we go this time?" Sam asked.
"Hemereld's Valley," Their father said. "It's the only safe place for shifters. And ware wolves. And fairies. And mutants."
"Mutants?!?!" Both Riley and Sam said at the same time.
"Yes didn't you hear." Their father said as the sound of a Chaser's wagon approached.
"They're up there quick catch them!" A man said from the wagon.
"Lets fly!" Sam shouted as he shifted into a bird.
"But I can't fly because I can't shift remember!" Riley shouted.
"Get on me." Her father said before shifting into a griffin. Riley climbed on the back of her father and held on. Sam and his father took off into flight right as the chasers got on top of the mountain. They had quite the journey ahead of them.
