*week later*
Me and David had a little dumb agruement that he started, so we both ignoring eachother right now
But we not in the same class right now, so that was good,
"Ciara, can you come here" the teacher called me
I rolled my eyes, Ugh
I went to her desk "what?"
"There's a new student, she's in the office, you're going to be her guide for the day"
"Bruh why do I always have to do this shit, I'm already mad" I said
"What happened, did David do something?" She said
Basically every teacher and students knows about me and Dd, and he's a trouble maker anyway
"No" I said lying getting the pass fron her hand and leaving the room
And I went to the office seeing the girl, she's a brown-skin and she was real pretty too
"Hey, I'm Ciara I'm finna be your guide for the day" smiling at her
"Oh okay, your pretty" she smiled looking at me
"Thank you, you too, what's your name?" We started walking around the school
"Meilani, but just call me Lani" she said
"K, by the way lunch bouta start"
I said
"Oh okay, do we go right now or...?"
"Yeah we can go there's people already in there" I said going to the lunch room looking the group
"Ight there they are" I said mumbling
Me and Lani walked to the table where the group were, and I could already tell they were about to be nosy.
"Ciaraaa, girl, you took so long," Brianna said, side-eyeing me.
"Who dat?" Ddot asked, like he always do.
Zaza rolled her eyes
I chuckled. "She a new student, her name Lani."
"Hey," Lani said, giving a small smile.
Everybody said hey back, but I felt DD looking at me.
"Ciaraaa, c'mere," DD said, dragging my name out like a little kid.
I sucked my teeth, acting annoyed, but let's be real-I wasn't mad no more. I sat next to him and he started kissing all over my face like there's people here
"Im sorry ma" he said
Lani was looking at DD. Like, not just looking-she was watching.
I ain't think too much of it. Maybe she was just tryna figure out who's who
I leaned into DD, rolling my eyes. "David, stop, there's people here."
He just smirked. "Ion care."
Naiyah fake gagged. "Ugh, y'all so extra. Can we eat in peace?"
"Fr," Zaza added, taking a sip of her drink. "Every time y'all argue, it's the same cycle-argue, ignore each other, then be all over each other again."
"Right," Ddot laughed. "Toxic as hell."
I side-eyed them. "First of all, mind y'all business, we barley even argue."
DD chuckled, pulling me closer. "They just mad 'cause they single."
"Single by choice," Naiyah corrected.
Ddot scoffed. "Girl, ain't nobody checkin' for you anyway."
Naiyah sucked her teeth. "And yet you all in my business."
Notti and kamari laughed
Zaza shook her head. "Here y'all go. I swear, y'all worse than Ciara and DD sometimes."
Meanwhile, Lani was just sitting there, quiet, but I noticed she kept looking at DD. I tried not to overthink it. Maybe she was just shy?
"So, Lani," Zaza turned to her. "Where you from?"
"Atlanta," she said, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear.
"Ohh, okay. ATL," Brianna nodded. "What made you move here?"
Lani shrugged. "My mom got a job out here, so we had to move."
Notti smirked. "Aight, but the real question is-you got a man back in ATL, or you single?"
Naiyah smacked his arm. "Boy, she just got here!"
I know damn well naiyah was a little jealous
Lani just giggled, tucking her hair again. "Nah, I'm single."
I ain't say nothing, but I caught how Lani's eyes flicked toward DD when she said that. Just for a second. I shook it off.
DD leaned back, draping an arm over my shoulder like he ain't notice nothing. "Well, welcome to the group, I guess."
Lani smiled. "Thanks."
But something in my gut told me to watch her.
