David Reyes

A month later

Ciara been mad stressed lately, like she tryna act cool, but I peep everything. I see it in her face, the way she be zonin' out and all that. So boom—I been plannin' a lil trip for her and the group. Nothin' too crazy, just somethin' to get her mind off things, you feel me?

Tryna be a good boyfriend and shit

Right now, I'm driving to ha crib, Ddot, Notti, and Kamari gon' meet me there in a lil bit, but I came early so I could see my girl first. Gotta make sure she good, y'know?

Knocks on the door.

She opened up, lookin' all cute in her lil bonnet and shorts. I smiled

"wassup ma," I said, pullin' her into a hug. "You look mad good. You miss me ?"

She rolled her eyes, but I seen that lil smile creepin' on her face. "Boy, shut up. You just saw me yesterday."

I laughed, kissin' her forehead. "Yesterday too long. I needed my daily Ciara fix."

We walked inside, and the living room already had snacks out—she always keep it set up right. That's one thing about her: she stay on top of it.

She flopped back on the couch, sighin'. "Ugh. I'm so tired, David. Like, everything been gettin' on my nerves lately."

I sat next to her, pullin' her legs up on my lap. "That's exactly why I planned somethin' for you. You, me, and the whole gang. We gon' dip outta here for the weekend. Just chill, have fun. No stress."

Her eyes lit up. "Wait, fr? You did all that?"

I nodded. "Of course. I gotchu, always. You deserve it."

I gave her a kiss

She smiled, and that's when I knew I did the right thing. She ain't even gotta say thank you—I see it in her eyes.

Right when she was bout to say somethin' else, a car horn beeped outside. I peeked out the window.

"Yo, they here."

Ciara groaned. "Ugh, lemme go change. I was chillin'. Now I gotta be cute."

"You always cute," I said, watchin' her walk off. She threw a pillow at me without lookin' back.
"I know."

Ten minutes later...

She came back out with a lil fitted two-piece and her edges laid, she was just fine too me

"Damn," I muttered, "You tryna have me crash the whip on the way there?."

She smirked. "Don't play, just get my bag."

We grabbed her stuff, stepped outside, and Kamari was already out the car yellin'.

"Hurry up lovebirds, damn. Y'all takin' all day!"

Ddot was in the backseat with Zaza on FaceTime, tryna hide the smile on his face. Notti had his hoodie pulled and was on the phone

Zaza and naiyah were talking about whatever girls talk about

"Where Bri at?" Ciara asked

"She said she ridin' with my cousin Maliya. They meetin' us there." I said

Ciara raised a brow. "I ain't know your cousin was coming too, and since when you had a cousin named maliya"

"Since I was born ma, you just gotta met my family real soon"

"Ouu you right" she said

"Ight we gon meet y'all at the airport" I told Kamari and them

"Ight" they drove off as, Ciara and I went towards my car

"Lemme put ya bags in the back" I told Ciara as she went in the car

I threw her bags in the trunk, made sure everything was straight, then slid in the driver's seat. She was already reclined back like the princess she is, phone in her hand, scrollin' through TikTok or whatever.

"Seatbelt," I said, lookin' at her.

"Boy, chill. I ain't even press play yet, you the first one who don't even wear seatbelts " she replied, but she clicked it anyway.

"Tryna get us both thrown through the windshield," I muttered, jokin', pullin' off the curb.

The ride to the airport was chill. We had music bumpin'—old A Boogie, lil Summer Walker in the mix for her. She was singin' under her breath, lookin' out the window all soft. And I kept peepin' her. Ion care how many times I see her, she always fine like it's the first time.

"You know I love you, right?" I said outta nowhere.

She looked at me sideways, smilin' while she scrolled on her phone. "Boy, why you gettin' all sappy?"

"I'onno. I just felt like sayin' it."

She leaned over the center console and pecked my lips. "I love you too, David."

I came to a red light

"Unt uh, cmere," I grabbed her face by her chin and pulled her in so I could kiss her.

Not no quick lil kiss neither—nah, I kissed her like I meant that shit. Like I was tryna calm whatever storm been sittin' heavy in her chest. She ain't fight it either, she leaned into it, soft as hell. My hand slid up the side of her face.

She let out this soft lil sigh in the middle of it

I pulled back slow, eyes still on her. "That's how much I love you," I said low, barely above a whisper.

She smiled, eyes half-closed. "You really a lover boy, huh?"

I smirked. "Only for you, ma. You my peace."

She touched my face, her nails light against my jaw. "And you mine. You make it easier to breathe sometimes."

That shit hit me in the chest a lil

Then the GPS had the nerve to break the vibe.

"In 3 miles, take exit 12A toward JFK Airport."

Ciara laughed. "Ugh, they always hatin'."
