Ciara Wright
Two weeks back in New York, and honestly, it feels like we never left. School is almost over, so the days been dragging, but at least the weather getting nice over here.
I was chilling in my room getting ready for school ,when my screen lit up with a text.
DD: You up?
Me: Yeah
DD: So... you ready to get ready?
Me: I guess. You at school?
DD: Yeah, just waiting for y'all slow asses.
I rolled my eyes but smiled a little. He always had something to say. I tossed my phone on the bed.
Downstairs, Kamari was already waiting by the door. "Yo, hurry up. I'm not tryna be late for no reason."
"Ain't nobody tell you wait," I shot back, grabbing my bag.
Naiya came out of her room, fixing her hair. "Y'all always arguing."
Kamari just shook his head, but I ignored them both.

The ride to school was chill, music low, everybody just on their phones.
When we pulled up, I spotted Brianna standing outside, waiting for Kamari. The second he parked, she walked up, smiling. I smirked. "Your girl here."
Kamari shot me a look but got out fast. Naiya and I followed behind.
I barely had time to adjust my bag before I heard Ddot's loud self. "We back outside, what's up?"
More like we back in school
I rolled my eyes playfully. "Bye."
Notti laughed, dapping up Kamari. "Y'all always late."
"We not late, y'all just early," Naiya shot back.
DD was standing a little off to the side, watching me. He always did that-just stood there, waiting for me to come to him. So, I did.
"Why you always looking like that?" I asked, stopping in front of him.
"Like what?"
"Like you-- you know what never mind."
He smirked but didn't say nothing. Just pulled me into a hug.

Free period was supposed to be chill. No work, no stress-just me and DD vibing like always. I was sitting on his desk, his arm draped over my leg, like we weren't in a class full of people who stayed in our business.
The teacher, who had been pretending to ignore us, finally had enough. "David, Ciara, separate. Now."
DD barely looked up. "Nah, I'm good right here."
I mugged the teacher because what the fuck we need to separate for?
The teacher exhaled real slow, like she were trying so hard to be patient. "I wasn't asking."
DD mugged her. "Ion give a fuck nigga"
The whole class was just watching
I sighed, already knowing this was about to go left. Cause I know how he be
"David, I don't have time for your problems today," the teacher snapped.
"Then don't make time for it, nobody cared expect yo ass" DD shot back.
"Excuse me?" The teacher's eyebrows went up.
"I'm saying," DD shrugged, "if you tired of me, stop talkin' to me."
