"Oh shit," the trio said, immediately running down the hallway.

They peeked over the railing to see Vox looking around the room frantically with a hint of anger and... obsession with Valentino holding what appears to be a whip and he's just as angry as he is.

"Where are you?! We just want to talk...!" Vox exclaimed with a crazed smile.

Damari, Angel, and Husk crouch low, trying to make themselves as small as possible behind the railing. Angel, ever the resourceful one, grabs Damari by the arm, pulling her away from the edge.

"Come on, we need to move. Fast," Angel whispers urgently.

"Where to?" Husk asks, his voice shaky as he glances at the two towering figures below.

Angel scans the hallway, quickly formulating a plan. "The basement. It's our only shot. We can double back through the tunnels."

Damari hesitates, looking down at Vox and Valentino. Vox's eyes scan the room like a predator hunting prey, the manic gleam in his eyes more unsettling than usual. Valentino, holding that whip, swings it once and cracks it in the air, his voice cold and threatening.

"I want her found," Valentino says, his tone leaving no room for negotiation. "No one insults me and gets away with it."

"Great," Damari mutters, swallowing her fear. "I really know how to make an impression, don't I?"

Before Angel or Husk can reply, the sound of a door slamming open on the lower floor catches their attention. More footsteps. More voices. They're surrounded.

"We don't have time," Angel says, his voice tight with urgency. "Basement. Now."

Husk looks at Damari, his eyes full of concern. "You really pissed them off, huh?"

Damari nods, trying to push down the rising panic in her chest. "I've never seen them like this before."

"Well, get ready for the show of your life," Husk adds with a half-grin. "Because we're about to make an escape worthy of legends."

They move quickly, feet silent on the plush carpet as they make their way down the hallway. The sound of the door slamming open echoes again, followed by the unmistakable creak of the stairs as Vox begins to climb.

"She's gone!" Vox's voice rings out, frenzied. "I KNOW she's here!"

"Upstairs!" Valentino barks, his eyes still locked on the upper levels. "Check every room! She has nowhere to hide!"

Damari's heart races. She's not sure if it's the fear of being caught or the fear of what Vox and Valentino will do when they find her.

Angel suddenly halts in front of a door—an old wooden panel that leads to a secret passage. His hand hovers over the knob.

"Ready?" Angel says, his voice low but intense.

Damari nods, her breath shallow. She doesn't know what kind of danger they're in, but she knows it's real.

They slip inside, pulling the door shut behind them just as they hear the sound of heavy boots on the stairs. In the cramped, dimly lit passage, Angel leads the way with Husk close behind. Damari takes one last look at the door before it clicks shut, the shadows swallowing her in silence.

They begin to move, footsteps echoing in the narrow corridor.

They reach the basement door, but just as they're about to open it, a faint noise causes them to freeze. A voice calls out from the shadows ahead.

"You can run, Damari. But you can't hide."

Damari freezes. Her blood runs cold. She recognizes that voice.
