Chapter 17: The Final Phase

"And it looks like our hyperactive friend officially started our final phase." Alex said to Karla and Ty, in a pleased tone.

"You know old man, I gotta say, I'm impressed." Ty replied.

"What I don't understand is, why can't we be the ones to kill them? Why do we have to use a bunch of creepy cookies?" Karla asked.

"We aren't going to kill them, rather we are going to get what we want." Alex simply replied.

Meanwhile with the students, who are now wandering around the BITD base.

"I hate these vents.." Sadie complained.

"Hey. It's our only way to get around the place without being caught." Lily quickly replied. "And besides, how many times are you given the chance to be like a spy and crawl through the vents of an enemy base?"

"Very few." Christine said, siding with Lily on the matter.

Sadie just sighed from the back, and kept following the others through the vents. Everyone was hoping Charlie was leading them in the right direction and not back outside, again.

"OW!! MIKEY YOU KICKED ME!!!" Lily shouted.

"Sorry!" Mikey quickly apologized.

"SHHH!! I hear someone." Charlie said, ending the conversation Mikey and Lily were having right away.

"We aren't going to kill them, rather we are going to get what we want." Alex said.

"Let's do thi-" Lily said enthusiastically when she determined who the voice belonged to.

"Not yet." Charlie quickly said cutting her off. "Let's wait for Ty and Karla to leave, we'll have a good chance of getting what we want then."

"Fine.." Lily muttered, gaining her the sighs from Mikey and Sadie. Christine was still unsure whether she wanted to go through with this plan or not.

Suddenly a door to the room Alex, Ty, and Karla were in, slammed open.

"Sir! We have intruders in the building! They were picked up on one of our cameras outside!" A BITD bender said, sounding like he just ran a mile to get there.

"Ty. Karla. I want you to find them." Alex ordered.

"Got it!" Ty obediently said.

"What shall we do if we find them?" Karla asked.

"Kill them on the spot." Alex replied, with no emotion whatsoever.

Karla and Ty nodded and ran out of the room, following the bender that brought them the news.

Alex sat down in a chair and sighed. It was now clear that all that has been going on has taken a lot out of him. He looked overall exhausted. Dark circles were beginning to form under his eyes, and he just looked like he wanted to sleep for a good few days.

There was a person burning holes at Alex from the vent. That person didn't care what Alex looked like. That person wanted revenge. That person was Charlie.

"Initiate the final phase!" Charlie quietly shouted to his friends.

Within a matter of seconds, Mikey shot the metal vent hatch off the wall, and Charlie quickly darted out of the small hole, holding a knife he brought with him from the facility.

"Well, well, well. Looks like I found the intruders." Alex said with a smirk, when he heard all the noise behind him.

Charlie said nothing to the man.

"I take it you are here for revenge." Alex sighed. "I hope you know you won't be able to with your weak bending skills."

"You're right. I couldn't beat you with my earth bending skills. But no one ever said I couldn't, using my knife skills." Charlie said.
