Iqra's pov

"surprise sunshine"

My eyes widened. What is he doing here?

"Come on, sunshine, let me in."

Before I could react, he stepped inside confidently. I stared at him in shock, my hands balling into fists.

Stomping my feet, I turned around and slammed the door shut.

"What are you doing here?" I asked, my anger bubbling up.

"I'm here for you, baby," he said smoothly.

"Who…who gave you my address, huh?" I took a step forward, glaring at him.

"I have my sources, sunshine," he chuckled, completely unfazed.

I narrowed my eyes, but before I could say anything, he extended his hand toward me. A bouquet. A beautiful bunch of red roses—my favorite.

I blinked. My lips parted, but no words came out.

Before I could respond, he raised his other hand, revealing a bag. I peeked inside, and my heart skipped a beat. Chocolates. A bag full of my favorite chocolates.

A small smile crept onto my face as I took the bag from him, momentarily forgetting my anger. But as soon as I realized it, I placed the bouquet and chocolates on the table and turned away, determined to keep my resolve.

But he grabbed my hand, pulling me back suddenly. My hands landed on his chest, and I glared up at him.

Just then, the lights dimmed, and soft music started playing in the background.

He pulled me closer, wrapping his arms around my waist.

"Talab hai tu, tu hai nasha,
Ghulam hai dil ye tera,
Khul ke zara jee loon tujhe,
Aaja meri saanso mein aa..."

I froze.

My favorite song.

My breath hitched as his voice blended with the melody. His gaze was locked on mine, filled with something deep, something undeniable.

"Mareez-e-ishq hoon main,
Karde dawaa...
Haath rakh de tu dil pe zara..."

He took my hand and placed it on the left side of his chest, over his heart.

My vision blurred with tears. Overwhelmed, I wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him tightly. He held me just as firmly, his fingers gently caressing my hair.

"I'm sorry, sunshine," he murmured, placing a kiss on the top of my head.

I sobbed against his chest.

He pulled back slightly, cupping my face. "What's the matter, sunshine? Why are you crying, baby? Are you okay?"

I shook my head, struggling to find my voice. "I... I’m okay."

His grip on my shoulders tightened as he guided me to sit on the sofa. He grabbed a glass of water, holding it up to my lips. "Drink."

I took a few sips, and he set the glass aside.

"Okay, now tell me what happened?"

I shook my head again. "It’s… it’s nothing."

"Iqra," he said, his voice firm yet gentle.

Tears welled up in my eyes again. His arms wrapped around me protectively as I sobbed against him.

"Shh... sunshine, tell me what happened?" He cupped my face, concern evident in his eyes.
