"Okay, so they're asleep and they should stay that way but if not, warm milk will do the trick and a story from the-" Cheryl began.

"A story from the top shelf will surely work. Yes, I've got it." Kimberley finished, laughing.

Cheryl smiled as she picked up her clutch bag from the side.

"Have a good night you two, you deserve it." Kimberley said.

"Thanks, see you later." Cheryl replied before heading out the door with Jean and into their car.

Jean told the driver where to go and there they went.

When they arrived, they were greeted by flashing lights and cameras everywhere they looked. Paparazzi shouting Cheryl's name, asking her about Simon, asking her about everything.

They got in and the music instantly lifted their mood.

They headed straight for the bar, ordered their drinks and stood around, taking in the atmosphere.

Someone Jean knew came over and started engaging in conversation with him. Cheryl stood around awkwardly, when Jean saw someone he knew he could talk for hours.

She looked around to try and spot familiar faces, she'd been so looking forward to going out all day, and now she felt like she regretted even accepting the offer.

Until, she saw one familiar face in the distance, a face amongst a crowd of women and a few men all around Cheryl's age.

She put her drink on the bar and walked over, slowly approaching the group of people until she could clearly make out the face she had recognised.

It was Katy Perry.

Usually, Cheryl's nerves would have the better of her. But not today.

She approached the group slowly.

"Hey!" She said, trying to appear casual.

Katy was clearly already slightly drunk, and after what Cheryl had seen on the news that morning - it wasn't surprising.

"Cheryl! My God, it's been a while!" Katy exclaimed, smiling as she leaned in for a hug.

'Oh God, she's one of those drunks.' Cheryl thought as she hugged Katy back.

"Yeah, 2 or 3 years I'd say, since X Factor." Cheryl said, now nervously crossing her arms in front of her.

All of Katy's friends were staring at Cheryl, as if they were transfixed by her.

"I just wanted to say hey and-" She began but was cut off by Katy.

"Don't be silly! Let me buy you a drink, we've got some catching up to do so I'm up to date for Monday!" She said, giggling as she pulled out some money with one hand and grabbed Cheryl's hand with the other.

The pair walked towards the bar as Katy ordered her a drink. Jean was still speaking to his friend.

"Isn't that your husband?" She said as she was waiting for the drinks to be served.

"Oh, yeah." Cheryl replied, briefly looking at Jean who was at the other end of the bar.

"See! I do know something at least." Katy said, giggling.

"How long are you over here for then?" Cheryl asked, diverting the subject away from her husband.

"I arrived today, and I go next Friday, so - a week." Katy said.

"Oh, not long then." Cheryl replied.

The barman gave the pair their drinks and they stood by the bar for a while, drinking them.

Cheryl pondered on the thought of whether she should say something about Katy's recent break up, or whether it'd be too raw.

"I'm sorry about your fiancé." She eventually blurted out.

Katy put her glass down without making eye contact. "Don't worry about him. Plenty more fish in the sea." Katy said, half serious - half playful.

Cheryl smiled faintly as she watched her drink her drink, her big blue eyes glistening as she put her glass down.

"He's been over there speaking to that man for the whole time we've been here." She explained, directing her eyes at Jean.

"He has? Why don't you go drag him away? I would!" Katy exclaimed.

"To be honest, he'd be bothering me more if he wasn't occupied, he's like a lost sheep..." Cheryl said, giggling.

Katy smirked. "That's all men are. Lost sheep looking for sex." She said.

"Sheep looking for sex?" Cheryl laughed.

The pair laughed some more and made some small talk before Jean finally made his way over to Cheryl.

"Nice of you to join me." Cheryl said, not even turning to face him.

"I haven't seen him in years." Jean tried to reason.

"And we've not been out for years! But, you know - if you wanna speak to your friends that's fine." Cheryl replied, still facing Katy who was smirking at Cheryl's attitude.

"I'm sorry." Jean said.

"Maybe I'll forgive you if you buy us all a drink." Cheryl said.

Katy was going to say he didn't have to but when she saw him pulling his wallet out, she decided to take the offer.

"Thank you!" She said as she took the drink and started sipping it.

"What else do I need to know about you?" Cheryl said to Katy.
