Haseena leaned against the door with closed eyes. And the she heard the faint whisper coming from her mind again, "Karishma did friendship with her just because she had crush over her." Again her heart refused to listen to her mind. Mind gave reasons over and over again but heart don't believe in logics.
But this time, mind seems to overpower the heart. It replayed Karishma's words.
"Kya thik karengi maddam sir aap? Na hum woh rahe hain na aap. Aur jo bacha hi nahi hai woh thik kya hoga?"
"Kuch bacha nahi hai kyunki kabhi kuch tha hi nahi." Mind presented argument," Haseena tu uske liye sirf ek attraction thi aur tum logon ki dosti, sirf ek chance the jo usne liya tha. Tu itni bhi khas nahi thi uske liye. Tabhi to use koi fark nahi pad raha."
Haseena's eyes welled up with tears, but she didn't let them fall. The weight of her thoughts pressed against her chest, making it harder to breathe. She felt lump form in her throat as tears pricked at the corners of her eyes.
"Aisa kuch nahi hai." Her heart protested," Naraz hain woh, aur narazgi unhi se hoti hai jinse mohabbat hoti hai. Unka haq hai naraz hone ka aur humara haq hai unhe manane ka. Dekhna ek din hum aur woh phirse pahle jaise ho jayenge. Tab tak tum apni bakwas apne paas hi rakho."
Haseena laughed on her heart's response. Sometimes she got past Haseena's glimpse through her heart's antics. Otherwise the new Haseena is just as her mind, logical but hopeless.
"Kash! Hum pahle wali Haseena hote. Karishma ke gale lag jate aur unhe tab tak nahi chhodte jab tak woh maan nahi jati. Is nayi wali Haseena ko to dhang se manana bhi nahi aata." She stared at her reflection in mirror for some time before heading towards her bed. Although sleep was far away from her eyes but her job doesn't give her privilege to staying awake at night and then sleeping till afternoon.
_________
Karishma entered into her house, where she live with her mother. Her relation with her father were also improved with the time. As both of them realised that the only thing keeping them away was the difference of opinion, and both learnt to respect it.
She directly collapsed on the couch. Her mother came and handed her a glass of water.
"Kya hua beta, tum thik to hona?" Veena asked with concern," Kal tumhari night duty thi aur tumne bataya bhi nahi."
"Sorry Maa, thane mein bahut tension chal raha tha to dhyan mein nahi raha."
"Kyun aisa kya hua?"
"Humari nayi SHO!" Karishma replied, resting her head behind," Unhone 24 ghante ka time diya tha FIR lane ke liye, agar nahi la paye to sabko suspend kar dengi. Abhi kuch hi ghante bache hain 24 ghante pure hone mein aur FIR ka kuch ata pata nahi hai."
"Don't worry beta, kuch na kuch ho jayega. Aise himmat nahi harte." Veena tried to motivate her.
"Kuch nahi hone wala maa. Sab try karke dekh chuke hain. Ab kuch nahi ho sakta."
"Tumne kal se kuch khaya?" Her mother asked with little strict tone. Karishma lifted her head with sheepish smile, which itself answered the question.
"Kal se kuch nahi khaya aur aram bhi nahi kiya hoga, aankhen dekho kaise laal ho rahi hain. Chalo tum change karo, main tumhare liye kuch banati hun."
"Man nahi hai."
"Aise nahi chalega! Khali pet aur thake hue dimag se problem ka solution nahi milega. Ab chup chap apne kamre mein jao, main khana lati hun."
Karishma walked towards her room as there's no use to argue. She opened the cupboard to get something comfortable to wear. After emptying half the cupboard and piling up a mountain of clothes on the bed in search of her favourite t shirt, she frustratingly call her mother.
"Kya hua kyun chilla rahi ho?" Her mother asked, entering into the room.
"Humari black wali t shirt kahan hai?"
"Yahin par to thi, thik se dhundho mil jayegi."
"Maa humne dekha yahan nahi hai." Karishma said irritatingly.
Her mother turned towards the clothes and found the t shirt in 0.0001 second (superpower of mothers)
"Dhyan kahan rehta hai tumhara? Aise to fariyadi tumhare samne bhi hoga to bhi tumhen nahi dikhega."
"Kuch bhi! Aisa thodi na hota hai ki koi hume apni problem batayega aur hum use nazarandaj kar denge?" Karishma turned towards bathroom when something hit her mind.
"Maddam mujhe aapse kuch baat karni hai..." Shanti hesitantly tried to tell something.
"Ama...mil jayegi tumhen tumhari salary. Ek to itni tension hai upar se yeh."
She remembers how Shanti was trying to tell them something again and again but they ignored her.
"Maa! FIR mil gayi." She jumped in excitement and kissed her on cheeks. Before her mother could understand anything, she left for the station.
________
"To team! Kuch mila? Koi fariyadi koi FIR?" Haseena Malik asked looking outside of her cabin's window. After getting no reply, she turned towards her team who was standing there bowing head.
Haseena sighed in disappointment. Honestly, she didn't want this moment to come. She knew how much hard work they had done to get this job and how much they have to suffer physically, mentally and financially if they get suspended. But now she doesn't have any option.
She looked at the clock and 24 hours were almost completed. With heavy heart she took out the suspension letters of them from the drawer. Cheetah, Santu and Pushpa ji were watching their dream shattering with teary eyes.
"Ek minute maddam sir!" Haseena's hand stopped after hearing a familiar voice. Everyone looked at the entrance and find Karishma standing there.
"Fariyadi mil gaya."
