The school buzzed with the energy of students returning after summer break, the sound of chatter and laughter filling the halls. For most, it was a normal start to the new term. But not for Tsukasa. For weeks, he’d waited impatiently, his excitement building with each passing day. He couldn’t leave the school, and without you there, the usually lively Tsukasa had been left bouncing between boredom and mischief. But now, now you were back.
The very moment he sensed your presence—your familiar footsteps echoing faintly down the corridor—his golden eyes widened in delight. A grin spread across his face as he materialized out of nowhere, hiding just behind the corner near the main entrance. His hands twitched with anticipation, and his whole body practically vibrated with energy as he peeked around the corner, spotting you walking in.
With zero warning, Tsukasa darted toward you, arms outstretched as he shouted, “(YN)!” His voice rang out through the hall, Before you could even process what was happening, you were engulfed in a surprise hug—arms wrapped tightly around you, his chin resting on your shoulder. He practically knocked the breath out of you with the force of it.
“You’re back!” he exclaimed, his voice filled with uncontainable excitement. He pulled back just enough to look at you, his golden eyes shimmering as his hands rested lightly on your shoulders. “You were gone *forever*! Do you even *know* how boring it’s been without you?” He pouted, but the corners of his mouth twitched as though he couldn’t stop smiling. “I thought I was going to *die of boredom*! Well, not literally—I’m already dead—but you get the point!”
Before you could respond, Tsukasa grabbed your hand, a mischievous sparkle in his eyes. “Come on, we’ve got so much to do! Forget your boring human classes. They don’t need you. I need you!” Without waiting for an answer, he started leading you down the hallway, chattering excitedly.
---
The first stop on Tsukasa’s self-proclaimed “Welcome Back Tour” was the art room—specifically, a back corner he’d commandeered over the summer. It was filled with his chaotic “masterpieces”—crude doodles, scribbled notes, and some surprisingly artistic paper cranes hanging from the ceiling like a mobile.
“Ta-daaa!” he announced, gesturing grandly. “This is what happens when I have too much time on my hands. Aren’t you glad you’re here now to stop me from creating *more* of these?” He picked up one of the paper cranes and tilted his head. “Actually, this one’s kinda cute, right? You can have it!” He placed it in your hands with a grin, clearly proud of his work.
The two of you spent a while in the art room, with Tsukasa showing off his creations and insisting that you try making something too. “Here, I’ll help,” he said, grabbing a piece of paper and folding it messily. It didn’t remotely resemble anything, but Tsukasa looked at it with exaggerated admiration. “Wow, we’re amazing at this!” he declared, bursting into laughter.
---
Next, Tsukasa led you to the old gymnasium, which he’d turned into his personal playground. Strings of spirit energy crisscrossed the space, creating a web of glowing threads. “Behold!” he said, spreading his arms dramatically. “I call it… uh… my web of boredom?” He laughed at his own joke. “But now that you’re here, we can make it even cooler!”
He handed you a piece of glowing thread and explained, in his own chaotic way, how to attach it to the web. The two of you spent what felt like hours adding more threads, twisting them into spirals and strange shapes. At one point, Tsukasa decided the web needed “accessories” and started hanging random objects—like an old shoe and a pencil case—on the threads. “Perfect!” he said, floating back to admire your work. “Now it’s a masterpiece.”
---
The day flew by in a whirlwind of mischief and laughter. Tsukasa followed you everywhere, refusing to let you out of his sight for even a moment. He interrupted your classes with his usual cheeky grin, making sarcastic comments about your teachers and classmates. “This class looks so boring. How do you *stand* it?” he whispered loudly, earning confused glances from the students who couldn’t see him.
At lunch, Tsukasa whisked you away to the courtyard, where he’d set up a “picnic” of sorts—a blanket surrounded by little glowing orbs he’d conjured. “Fancy, huh?” he said, wiggling his eyebrows. The food was entirely conjured by his powers, and while it tasted strange, it wasn’t half bad. “See? I’m basically a five-star chef,” he said proudly, tossing a glowing apple in the air.
---
By the time the day ended, the two of you were sitting on the rooftop, watching the sun dip below the horizon. The sky was painted with hues of orange and pink, and the school grounds were quiet except for the faint rustle of leaves.
Tsukasa leaned back, propping himself up on his hands as he looked out at the view. “You know,” he said, his voice unusually soft, “I really did miss you. I mean, I didn’t cry or anything—well, maybe a little—but it was *so* boring without you.” He turned to you with a grin, his golden eyes twinkling. “So you’d better not leave me alone like that again, okay?”
He flopped onto his back, laughing as he added, “Anyway, tomorrow we’re *definitely* skipping all your classes. I have *big* plans.”
