Chapter 14

Today, Josh woke up a long time before me. He even had time to go out for a bit. when he came home, he went up to the dining room and instantly and ran over to where there was a calendar hanging on the wall.

"Its so close!" Josh exclaimed as he crossed off a little square that said 'September 30th', with a red marker.

"Please don't yell." I said as I let my head hit the table. "I have a headache.

"Sorry. I'm just excited." he said. "And maybe if you didn't bang your forehead off the table, that wouldn't happen." He pointed out.

"Why are you so excited this early in the morning?" I asked

"Because, we are going to have sex" he said sarcastically

"What? I asked.

"I'm kidding. The Fix Me release date is so close!" Josh was practically screaming.

"Your inner fangirl is coming out." I said "please try to contain yourself".

"But Fix Me comes out on October 3rd, and someone's birthday is on October 4th!" He said pointing at me.

"I told you I have a headache." I wined.

"I'm so sorry." Josh said. Then he came over and crushed his lips into mine.

We broke away when Josh's parents walked in.

"Hey kids" Corlynn said

"Hey mom" Josh said as they both joined me at the table.

"No work today mom?" Josh asked.

"Nope, I have the next few days off" she said, then turned to me "so how is everything, Whitney?"

"Fine" I shrugged, and then let out a dry cough.

Josh looked in my direction, and then looked over to his mother. "Mom" Josh said "can we talk?".

"Of course, honey." She said touching his hand.

I felt like that was my invitation to leave the room.

"I'm going to go get some water" I said getting out of my seat.

I trotted into the kitchen, where Miles was drinking a glass of orange juice. I turned on the tap, so I could let the cold water run.

"Off to work, Miles?" I asked.

He looked at his watch. "yup, better get going or I'll be late. See you later." He said, then walked off.

I filled my glass with water, and took a few sips. I was unsure of what Josh and his mom were talking about, and it was feeling a bit awkward staying in the kitchen for such a long time. I walked over to the doorway of the dining room, to see if they were done talking. I looked at Josh, and he nodded as if to tell me that the coast is clear. I took another sip of water as I walked back into the dining room. My intention was to sit in the chair that I was originally sitting in, but Josh had other ideas. On my way back, he wrapped his arm around my waist, and pulled me into his lap, almost spilling my water.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"I just wanted a bit of your water" he said as he snatched the glass out of my hand and drank the whole thing.

"Ass" I said as he handed me the empty glass.

I still don't know what Josh told Corlynn, but it might have been about us dating. I don't think she knows yet, but I think she might have gotten a hint, since we're together 24/7. Even if Josh didn't tell her, she might know now that me and him are acting like a typical teenage couple right in front of her.
