PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE READ MY NEWEST FANFIC TITLED NEVER SPEAK OF LOVE IF IT DOES NOT EXIST!!! IF YOU LIKED THIS ONE YOU'LL LOVE THE NEW ONE I PROMISS YOU!! HERES A SNEAK PEEK OF THE NEW FANFIC  .XXXX

I wasn't the type to believe in love. Maybe its because Im a senior in high school and high school, at least for the boys, is all about gaming girls and breaking hearts. Or maybe its because for the past six years of my life I've watched my parents failing marriage result in tons of stress and headaches for my brother and I. I could never be sure of either. But whatever the reason I remain solid in my promise to stay single and keep to myself.

Boys cause nothing but trouble. Trouble and heartache and pain. And I of all people have had enough trouble and heartache and pain to last me a lifetime. Not that all boys are heartless jerks without a care in the world for the feelings of the girl they are currently with, but the ones that are are cruel. Cruel, evil and downright dirty. They don't have the time to be concerned with the amount of hours their girl will spend curled up in a ball with a pint of ice cream crying or sleeping, under the blankets and dead to the world. They don't have the energy to take the girl out in public and show her what a good time really is. They certainly don't have the patience to let her down easy when it's time to start seeing new people. And so while I steered clear of any being included in the male race my friends all looked at me like I was crazy or worse... Lesbian.

My best friend Emma on the other hand could care less about the future or the heartache or the pain. And so as I sit in my lawn chair, folded up like a pretzel and glued to my favorite book Emma and Harry splash and kick about in the pool just a few feet away.

"Harry Stop!" Emma squeals as Harry scoops her up and out of the water. She's swatting at him and giggling and he's bending down to kiss her on the forehead over and over again.

"You two make me sick." I mumble sliding my shades off my face and into the pocket of my denim shorts. They both turn to look at me momentarily before Harry continues his playful kisses and Emma starts squealing again.

"You know, you could always join us Stacy." Harry rasps throwing Emma down into the pool. She lets out a high pitched scream before clamping her fingers down over her nose and plunging down into the water.

"Nah I'm good." I reply shaking my head and watching as he dives down after her.

The afternoon sun is cooking the pavement beneath my burning feet and scorching the lawn chair I'm sitting in so I stand, stretching my arms above my head and then start heading towards the house. Emma and and Harry are still chuckling and tickling and shoving as I pull open the sliding glass door and let myself inside.

"Shoo!" I swat at Noodles Emma's chunky tabby cat. She meows rubbing herself up against my leg before pouncing on a toy I toss into the living room.

"Isn't it a little too hot to be inside all day?" I jump as my heart begins to race. The person behind me chuckles and I feel myself calm down as I recognize the voice as Emma's neighbor Louis.

"Isn't it a little odd for you to be creeping around in your neighbors kitchen?" I retort turning to glare at him. He shrugs, winking at me as I move past him to reach into the fridge.

"Where's Emma?" Louis ask watching me retrieve a Popsicle from a crisper in the freezer. I jerk my head in the direction of the back door.

"Pool. Why?" I ask. His sly grin returns and I roll my eyes.

"I don't know. I needed a favor but I guess I could just ask you instead." He whispers grabbing for my wrist. I gasp pulling out of his reach and clasping both hands behind my back. He chuckles. I start to make my way out of the kitchen and up the stairs when I remember I left my Popsicle laying on Its wrapping on the counter. I consider asking Louis to grab it for me but decide its not worth the hassle and end up walking back towards the kitchen.

"Your really cute when your flustered you know that?" Louis speaks from his place in front of the fridge.

"Your annoying." I tell him grabbing my Popsicle and turning to leave.

"Stacy!" I hear Emma call. She and Harry are coming in through the back. Both dripping and both out of breathe.

"My mom wants to know if you'll stay for dinner." She pants reaching for a towel draped over the back of a chair. My parents constant arguing has become a strain for me and my brother Andrew so I end up spending most of my time over at Emma's.

"Ya. Sure." I answer watching my Popsicle begin to melt and run down the side of my arm.

"Hi Louis." Emma greets him holding onto Harry for balance while she drys herself off.

"Hey Lou." Harry speaks. Louis nods at Harry from across the kitchen. I begin to climb the stairs again.

"My mom wanted you to know that the bowl you let us borrow is in the sink at our place," I heard Louis tell Emma.

"k thanks Lou!" She says back.

"Oh and Emma,"

"ya?"

"Tell Stacy I said Hello when you get a chance ok?" I hear Louis request as I reach the top step of the staircase.

I stop walking and squeeze my eyes shut, because sometimes Louis really gets to me.
