TThe Battles of Love: A Neville Longbottom fanfic
Chapter 10
Eleanor's POV
I wrote a letter to my dad. I was so happy after I found out about my acceptance into the Quidditch team. I couldn't wait to tell him.
Dear Dad,
Maybe you know by now, but I got into the Gryffindor Qudditch team! I'm their new chaser! Tryouts were an extremely nervous procedure, and I thought that I wasn't going to make it. Know I know how you felt in your tryouts. :)
People congratulate me because I'm the new girl. They said that transfers rarely, or never earn spots in their first year. So I'm considered lucky.
How's mom? Is she okay? I didn't read her letter yet. She told me once tryouts are over, that's when I can read it. I'm kind of worried, even though I didn't even read her letter yet. Do you know what's going on?
How is the... Order? It even seems awkward saying it in the letter. But I do want to learn more about it. I hope you tell me about it when I see you again.
Anyways, I hope everything's fine.
Love,
Eleanor xx
P.S. I hope to see you again.
I smiled, and then I sealed the letter.
I exited the Common room and headed to the Owlery. It's the place on top of the castle where all the owls stay so that you can give or receive letters. It was pretty cool.
I spotted my owl, and she was perched on one of the balconies.
"Hello Lucie," I said, patting her. Then I handed her the letter, and she took it using her beak.
"Lucie, send this to dad," I told her. Then she flew away.
I realized that I was holding my letter from my mom. I didn't even know that I brought it here with me. Maybe know's the time to read it.
I entered the castle because it was pretty chilly out here. It was still September, but London was a bit colder than in France.
I sat down, my back to the wall. I brought my knees to my chest and opened the envelope, taking out the letter.
Dear Eleanor,
Hello dear. I'm so proud that you're in Gryffindor. I think they're the brave ones, right? That's what I heard.
I chuckled.
Anyways, your father and I are so happy. And I bet that you got into your Qudditch team? I know so. I know how good you were during your practices.
I have to tell you something.
I was surprised myself, and I didn't know it would happen again.
My eyes widened. No, it can't be-
My heart attack came back again.
I held back a yelp.
I was having tea with Mrs. Figg. You remember her, right? She's the darling woman who lives next door to Harry Potter. I invited her, and she told me more about the attack. When I came to the kitchen, I just felt it. It couldn't breathe, and the pain was growing larger in my chest. I fell on the ground, and I called for Mrs. Figg.
She was obviously shocked- but then she immediately called the ambulance. If she didn't call for help, I don't know what could've happened.
It's really strange in my opinion. My last heart attack was fourteen months ago. The doctor told me I was becoming much better. But this time they said that this was sort of a 'freak- occurrence.'
