Chapter 14
Eleanor's POV
"Eleanor! Hurry!" Hermione told me as she ran to the door of our room.
"Wait just a minute!" I told her, putting on a tank top. Today, I had to layer myself. The middle of October was already pretty chilly, and everyday became a little colder. Hermione told me we are going out today, but she still hasn't told me exactly where.
"You always take forever," she stated with a roll of her eyes.
"Sorry! I just have to look presentable," I said, slipping on a striped sweater.
She gave me a incredulous look. "I thought you were over that kind of things when you moved here?" she asked.
"I am," I said. "It doesn't mean I have to look bad."
She chuckled. "Alright, alright."
Once I was finished, I wrapped a scarf around my neck and stared at my full- length mirror.
"What else do I need..." I muttered to myself, thinking.
"You look fine, El!" Hermione said impatiently before grabbing my wrist and pulling me out of the room.
"Wait! I just need my beret!" I exclaimed. She released me, and I took out one of my berets I used back at home. I placed it on my head and smiled at Hermione.
"It's just something to remind me of France," I said. She smiled at me, and together we walked out of the Common room.
When we were out of our Common room, Hermione seemed to walk uncomfortably, like she was conscious of her surroundings.
"Hermione..." I said awkwardly. "What are you doing?"
"We can't let Umbridge see us," she told me in a low, soft voice.
"Why not?" I asked.
"Then she'll find out that we're going to Hogsmeade," she told me, placing her back to the wall. She looked around, and when she saw that nobody was there, she said, "Let's go."
"What's wrong with that? Then she'll just think that students just want to have some time out of the castle," I said.
"She's suspicious," Hermione pointed out. "It's better that we won't be seen so she won't ask us or something like that."
I stared at her confusedly. Lately, I felt like I wasn't so updated with the things going on around Hogwarts.
"Okay, wait," I said, stopping her.
She faced me, raising her eyebrows.
"Exactly where are we going?" I asked her, crossing my arms.
She walked closer to me and whispered, "The Hog's Head. Now, let's hurry." She turned and darted down the staircases.
Every hallway we went, Hermione had to check if there was anyone there. When the coast was clear, she would grab me and make a run for it. So far, we only saw a couple of students and barely any professors.
We spotted Harry and Ron sitting by the entrance courtyard. They were both sitting on a rock.
"Hey guys," I said as we reached them.
"Hello," Harry and Ron chorused.
"Shall we go?" Hermione said, leading the way.
Harry, Ron and I looked at each other. The two of them gave me a questioning look and I just shrugged.
