The Battles of Love: A Neville Longbottom fanfic
Chapter 19
Eleanor's POV
"So, where are you going again?" Neville asked, looking up from what he was reading.
"Back to Paris," I said. Neville and I were talking about our plans for Christmas break. "Just for two weeks. My parents want me to invite all my new friends."
There were only a few days left until Christmas break, which I couldn't be more excited about. I missed Paris so much. It was my home. As much as I loved England, I couldn't let go of my first home. Paris is the city of love, lights and magic, and it will stay that way.
However, I will still miss my friends. I won't be seeing Neville for a few weeks, which I'm sad about. On the bright side, I'll be spending a full day at Paris Disneyland with Harry, Hermione and the Weasley family. I was looking forward to a (temporarily) stress-free, warm and exciting Christmas break.
"Wow. They're so kind," Neville said, giving me a small smile. I couldn't tell if he was amused or sad or both. "Who are you planning on inviting?"
"You, of course," I started, and he smiled. "Harry, Hermione and the Weasely family," I continued. "I invited Seamus and Dean at first, but Dean still doesn't want to be near Harry. As for Dean, he has other plans."
Neville bit his lip nervously. "I don't think I can go," he said.
"Why not?" I raised my eyebrows.
"Because I have to stay with my grandmother," he looked down embarrassedly. "I have to take care of her."
I still didn't know much about Neville's grandmother. I didn't know much about Neville's family. All I know is that he's lived with his grandmother all his life. I have no clue about his parents. I'm tempted to ask people, but that would betray our friendship. Whatever I need to know about him, he should tell me first. Besides, he already knows a lot about me, so why shouldn't I get to know him more? Friendships are supposed to work both ways.
"Oh. No worries," I said. "We can go to Disneyland another time."
"I can't wait for Disneyland!" Fred said, who suddenly appeared behind me. He slung both his arms around my neck.
"Me too," added George, who put his arms over Fred's. I was now engulfed in a Weasley twin embrace. "I hear the rides make you throw up!"
I chuckled and looked at Neville. He wasn't at all amused.
"Did somebody say throw up?" Hermione asked, sitting down on a couch. Ron sat next to her. "That's simply disgusting."
"Have some fun, will ya?" Fred told her. George and Ron snickered.
Hermione looked at Ron. "Why are you laughing?" she asked him.
"Nothing," he said. "What a kill joy..."
"What's that?" Hermione asked.
"Nothing, jeez." Ron tried to hide his smile.
They're cute. They should get together some time. I doubt it, though. They were both great at denying their feelings.
"Have you been to Paris, Hermione?" I asked her.
Hermione nodded. "Once, with my parents," she smiled. "But not to Disneyland."
"Well, you'll all love it there," I told the group. "Harry, are you coming?" I asked Harry, who has been sitting quietly this whole time.
"Of course. Definitely," Harry nodded. He seemed distracted. "When will this be?"
