Chapter Five – La Belle
I was really pissed off for two reasons as I sat in the kitchen getting shouted at by my parents. My friends had been sent home, including Kade. Especially Kade. They were furious with Kade.
So I was pissed off because not only had my parents walked in at the most inopportune and untimely moment, but because now I was grounded for two months. No more parties.
And that meant no more Kade.
When my mum had screeched like she'd been shot, I was the first to react and quickly slid away from Kade. His eyes had opened and he looked at me for a long second, gaze heavy with lust and lips a deep red. I'd never seen something as irresistible as Kade in a state of euphoria.
And because of me, which was, frankly, even more spell-bounding.
Then, when my parents started shouting about it being three in the morning, my friends started to pack up, managing to keep the vodka from sight somehow. Within seconds, they were muttering bye to me, holding back laughter. As Kade moved to the door, I felt a sore ache in my chest. The chances of us even talking ever again were so slim, it made me really sad.
He turned, though, just as he stepped outside. My parents were in the kitchen, having told me to go there immediately after the others left.
I was nervous and my cheeks were stained permanently pink. "Sorry about that...uh..."
He bit down on his lower lip, lips twitching with evident humour. "Your parents are probably just worried. I mean, you were kissing the bad boy."
I instantly cocked a brow, crossing my arms over my chest. "I was kissing you?"
He smirked and then eyed me up and down. "Like I'd kiss you."
My eyes widened, but within a second I realised he was joking. "Go fuck yourself, Kade."
He grinned, flashing a set of perfect white teeth. "The sexual tension is killing me."
"Shut-up!" I hissed, glancing back in fear of my parents hearing his words.
He pulled his lip-ring into his mouth, starting to move away, eyes dancing in amusement. "I'll see you later, Scarlet. And keep off the vodka," he advised, pointing to his eyes with two fingers and then mine, meaning he was watching me.
I rolled my eyes. "Goodbye Kade."
The instant I shut the door, I was bulldozed by question after question about who he was, what he was taking at school, what he wanted to do when he was older, how old he was, his parents...it's a long list. I didn't know any answers and I was honest about the fact. This infuriated my parents even further somehow.
