This is the last memories one.
The next part (after this one) will be when you are old enough to join the scouts, so sixteen? I think? Okay. Enjoy..

3rd person POV
It had been almost 4 months since you first arrived at the scouts HQ, and during those 4 months you had trained with Levi, Erwin and hanji. You were now skilled in hand to hand combat, knew a lot about Titans, and also knew how to use a 3DMG. In 2 weeks was your birthday, you were turning 10. You missed your mother and father, and no news had come saying whether they were dead or not. Tears would well in your eyes whenever you though of the day, your happiness was destroyed and your parents ran from you, leaving you to be eaten by the Titan.

~2 week time skip, to your birthday'~

Your POV
I sat on my bed, head in my hands. I thought about what my parents did to me, I remembered saying that they would always be there for me and how they would never leave me alone, no matter what the circumstances. Even though you were only young you knew how to fend for and look after yourself, people blamed it on the amount of time you spent with Levi. They said that his cold and hate was having an impact on me, but deep down I believe they knew I was going to end up like this, after all, my parents had abandoned me, and I basically joined the scout regiment at the age of 9. I fell back onto my bed, one arm over my eyes the other over my stomach. I heard a knock at my door.
"Who is it, and what do you want?" I said rather annoyed that people were interrupting my quiet. I didn't get a reply. I groaned and rolled of the bed and walked to the door. As I opened the door I was picked up and swung over Levi's shoulder. I hit his back with my hands, screaming.
"Put me down! What's wrong with you?!" He just clicked his tongue like he always does, I sighed and let him take me to wherever he was taking me. We walked for what seemed like ages until Levi broke the silence.
"Why are you so much heavier than I remember?" He questioned. I gasped and half turned around and smacked him in the back of the head.
"What are you trying to say!? Are you calling me fat!?" You cried rather annoyed. He chuckled.
"N-no way." He said in a sarcastic tone. I hated it when he used that tone.
"The only reason I feel heavier, is because you got weaker." I stated. He stopped in his tracks. "Crap" I though to myself.
"Weak am I? I discreetly remember beating you when you challenged me to a fight yesterday" he said, rather cockily. I sighed knowing I had lost the battle.
"Fine... You win... Maybe I did gain a few extra pounds, but I'm not that heavy am I?" I said a little bit worried.
"I was joking. You're no heavier than you usually are, and take that as a compliment." He said bluntly. I breathed a sigh of relief. He stopped and put me down in front of him, as I looked at him he smiled at me. I was the only one that had ever seen him really smile. I smiled back, and he turned me around to face a large door, that belonged to the mess hall. He covered my eyes and opened the door, as we stepped in he removed his hands and I was greeted by all of my friends.
"SURPRISE!!!" They all screamed, I covered my mouth with my hand in amazement. This was the best thing that I had ever seen. My parents had always given me small gifts on previous birthdays but, I never had any actual friends so, my parents never threw me a birthday party. Levi moved his mouth to my ear and whispered,
"Don't just stand there, we didn't set this all up for you to stare at it, now go enjoy, happy birthday." And with that he pushed me into the the room and I was greated with hugs and happy birthdays.
"I don't know how to react, thank you everyone. This is my first birthday party and I will treasure this day forever." I said, every stared at me in disbelief.
"Wait!? You're telling me no one ever threw you a birthday party!?" Hanji cried. I nodded slowly. "Come one guys! Let's make this the best first birthday party ever!" She cried. There was cake, games and dancing. People also got me gifts such as cloths, jewellery, hanji got me a picture frame with a picture of my new family in it. It was definitely the best birthday party I'm ever going to have.

~time skip to after the party~
(Still your POV)
As I lay in my bed thinking about the party that had just happened to celebrate me, I couldn't help but smile. I heard a knock at my door.
"Yes? Come in." I said. The door opened and Levi walked in. I smiled at him but, this time he didn't return the smile. A wave of worry rushed over my body.
"What's with that face? You seem worried?" He asked me, his tone hinted with annoyance. I braced myself to get yelled at.
"And yell in 3... 2.... 1..." I thought to myself, counting down the seconds till he exploded in anger. I felt 2 arms wrap around me in a hug. It took me a while for me to process what was happening. Levi removed himself from hugging me and left a small box in my lap. I looked down at the box and then back at Levi.
"What?" He said looking at me.
"Well, it's just that you've never actually hugged me before, it's just not like you." I said. He stared in shock at me and then half nodded at me as if, accepting that it was the truth. I looked at the small box, wrapped in royal blue paper and tied with a red bow.
"Go on, open it." Levi urged me on. I undid the bow and carefully removed the paper from the box, when I opened the box, tears began to fall down my face. Inside the box was a small silver heart locket, decorated with the wings of freedom with a picture of Levi, hanji, Erwin and I, and a picture of the rest of my friends in a small group on the inside. Levi looked at me.
"Why are you crying? Hey, what's wrong?" He said wiping away my tears with his thumb, Levi had always been like the big brother I never had. I wouldn't deny it, I was closer to Levi than the others, even though I was originally afraid of him. I pulled him into a hug.
"Nothing. Nothing is wrong. Thank you... Big brother Levi." I pulled back and blushed. "I uh... Didn't mean to call you that.... It's just- you're kinda like a brother to me..." I looked down and twiddled my thumbs.
"It's fine. Just call me big brother Levi from now on." He said winking at me. We both smiled.
"Oh, by the way, this also arrived for you, we don't know who it's from, but we guessed it's birthday card." Levi said handing me the light pink envelope. I opened it and pulled out the cards to read what had been written on the inside. The card read.

Dear Y/N,

Happy 10th birthday sweetheart.
We're  sorry I couldn't be there to celebrate with you.
We saw you get taken by the scouts and believed that they would kill you, we don't know if you will read this but, if you do then know we love you.

Forever and always
Love mom and dad.
Xoxo

I dropped the card on my bed, and burst into tears.
"Why? Why now?!" I cried. Levi looked shocked. He picked up the card and read it as I continued to cry head in my hands, he gasped at what he read, and then gave me a hug. Hanji must have heard me crying because she ran into the room.
"Levi was did you do thi-" she was cut of by Levi shoving the card into her face, she took to from him and held it in her hands.
"What do they think this is?" She muttered under her breath. She then sighed and walked over to me and hugged me. I cried for what seems like ages. Hanji signalled for Levi to leave the room. I eventually stopped crying and me and hanji sat in silence for about 5 minutes. Levi walked into my room carrying 3 mugs of hot chocolate. We drank them and talked about different things, we even touched on my past. It felt good to cry and talk about things with Levi and hanji, they made me feel loved, they made me feel as though I had a family and I knew that this family would never abandon me, ever.
