How you met: Bruce Banner

You have the rest of the day off from work so you thought that the library would be a good place to chill for a while. You work in a lab part time, mostly DNA but you really like engineering and other things.

In the science section of the library you pick out an Astrophysics book and sit on the floor right underneath where you found it. Quantum mechanics and thermodynamics are your favourite. In fact, any kind of physics interest you.

After a few minutes your butt starts to hurt from sitting on the hard floor, but you don't want to put the book down. So, you stand up still reading and make your way over to where you think is seated area. Instead you walk right into someone with a thud.

"Ow, sorry I didn't-" You look up to see Dr. Bruce Banner. The Dr. Banner! "Oh my gosh. Dr. Banner, I would like to formally apologise for running into you there."

"It's okay, you seem really into that book, uhh...?" You close it sheepishly.

"Daniel, Frost. Yeah astrophysics, I just can't get enough of it." You both laugh in sync.

"Shhh!" The librarian leans over her desk. You look at her then back to each other awkwardly. Bruce starts to look at you a bit differently though.

"Hold on a minute. Are you the Dr Frost? The guy who found a cure for Pituitary Tumours in the brain?" He whispers. You nod your head slowly. You had won an award for that a year ago.

"Oh wow. Sir, if it wasn't for you a dear friend of mine would have passed. Thank you." He shakes your hand. The librarian hushes you a little louder than last time. You have an idea.

"You don't have to if you don't want to but, would you mind having a coffee with me? There's a café just around the corner. It will be a lot better than getting shushed every two seconds." He smiles and nods quite eagerly. You smile back, relieved.

You put your book back and walk out of the library with Bruce. You lead him to a small coffee shop a few streets down. You order your drinks and take a seat outside. As you start talking you notice that you have a lot more in common than you thought.

"And by adding the two together, it created the new cure." You lean back into your chair proudly as Bruce ponders over everything you just explained. He looks up at you, as if he's scanning for something.

"I want you to work for me." The question just flew out of nowhere.

"Excuse me?" You lean forward again, confused.

"You'll get better pay and there is a wider variety of things you can use to experiment with. You have a certain skill that I haven't seen in a long time. I want you to work for me."

"Are you serious?"

"Well from what you've told me it sounds like your not getting the correct teachings. If you take my offer though, I will teach you all I know." He writes his number on the napkin and slides it over to you.

"A smart man like you should be getting the proper education, if you know what I mean." He winks at you. Okay? Standing up, you shake hands. You are so taking up his offer.

On your walk home you constantly recite what your idol had said. "A smart man like you should be getting the proper education, if you know what I mean."

What does he mean? You enter into your apartment and lie down on your bed, thinking. You're not doing much at the moment and you really do need to reach out somehow. Half a hour of moving around and constantly tapping your phone later, you decide to dial the number.

"Hello?" His voice is smooth and deep.

"Hey Bruce, it's Daniel. About that offer..."
