NoraI clenched my jaw and turned too Cam who looked like he was about to be executed, with his face pale and his eyes wide when he saw my murderous look.
I glanced out of the corner of my eye at the school bus, where teens and parents stared out the windows with wide eyes at me, some even taking pictures with their phones. I let out a quite sigh. The only downside of being the CEO of Dust's magazines was the paparazzi and the lack of privacy that came with it.
And since the Dust's magazines sometimes include me in their pages, people know me world wide.
Pulling myself from my thoughts, I stare Cameron strait in the eye. Cameron shifted uncomfortably under my stare before I asked him.
"What is going on?" I kept my voice calm though if you listened closely it was more cold than calm.
I know this is Amy's fault and Cam most likely got caught in her plans but that still doesn't change the fact that he didn't warn me of his mother's plans.Cam sighed. "Look Aunt Nor I know your angry."
I gave him a look that said 'Angry?'
Cam noticing stuttered. "I I I mean furious with my mom and me, but Ill explain on the bus."
I gave Cam a dominate look and said." No Cam! You will tell me right now what's going on or you and me will be walking home!"
Cam shuffled back nearly tripping over the suitcases and when Cam thought he was a safe distance from his Aunt he explained but his eyes kept shifting from Nora to the bus.
"Well a few weeks ago we got a letter in the mail from my cousin, about him going to this camp and was really happy with it. So mom called her sister and got the details. After hearing how happy my cousin was when he came back and how great the camp sounded, mom decided that this would a great way for me to get away from reality for a while. No more bullying for being gay, no more beating up myself about my dad, no more- well you get it. "
My eyes slowly filled with understanding of what is going on as Cam continues too talk.
"But there is a catch. To go to the camp you have to bring a adult with you and since mom hates anything too do with bugs or being too active and since you were coming down to visit the same week I was supposed to go to the camp, Mom thought why not you? Since you are stuck inside all day or doing work mom thought it would be great for you too."
I can't deny that I am not working all the time. Running a big company as mine takes a lot of hours and work and it helps with me keeping secrets hidden from the world when you are one of the heads in the media.
"Though mom knew you wouldn't go willingly, so she made a plan for you too sign those papers that were 'supposed' to be for suing dad.
Since you have been telling Mom too get on with her life Aunt Nor, mom made up that she would move on, if she sued dad and so you signed the form for the camp for you and me saying that you will be my guardian for the week. And after dinner mom delivered it to the head of the camp who lived down the street from us. Mom had already given my form to him the week prior and she had yours all filled out and the camp head had agreed to let us in even though your form came late."Everything made sense and I understand why Amy did it but there's a problem.
"We're still not going." I said.
Cam's eyes widened at my response, probably had been guessing that I would be okay with the situation after he explained.
"Why not Aunt Nor? Please I need to go I need to get away from here!" Cam cried sadness, frustration, disappointment, loneliness and a bit of anger, all these emotions clouding his face.
My heart squeezed. I went from the victim to the bad guy all in twenty minutes. All because of Amy.
My anger towards Amy hadn't simmered down, no, if anything it grew at that thought. She had tricked me, lied to me and abandoned me with her child all within two days.
I ran a hand through my hair angrily, peeved off and about to tell Cam why we weren't going when the bus honked.
I turned too see a man lean out the drivers window. The man is about in his late forties with blonde hair and brown eyes, a hard jaw with a small stubble.
In his eyes you could see the amusement dancing in them along with the mirth.
Cam gasped. "Carl Bonnings? The head camp counselor?"
The man smirked and said. "Who else?"
"I thought you weren't going to be at Forest Meadow this week?" Cam asked , a confused look on his face.
It took me a few seconds for me to recognize what Cam said before it dawned on me. Amy had known the camps head counselor was going an was picking people up thus making me go because knowing Amy, she probably told him to use force if necessary to make me go. She most likely told him the situation as well. Then she also knew I wouldn't want to make a scene in front of the bus load of people.
The counselor's face turned from a smirk to a smile.
"I heard camps gonna be extra fun this week so I couldn't miss it."
A few cheers erupted from the bus but the counselor's face was directed at me . My hunch was on point. Amy told him.
"Is this your Aunt I've been hearing about?"
I just couldn't win today. I clenched my jaw.
Before Cam could say anything I said quickly and curtly and well quite rudely too.
"Yes, my name is Nora Jackson, would you mind helping us with our bags?"
