Chapter Twenty-Three

I can't believe that Sean stood up for me like that today. In front of everyone. I guess he had to have an audience. But I have a feeling that we won the war between Katie. Some part of me is saying this is not a war. If you are happy, then so be it. Be happy and be yourself.

"Thank you for today." I said while we was in the car on the way home. He grabbed my hand and laid a soft kiss on my knuckles.

"I would do it again, and a hundred times after that." He smiled and turned his eyes back on the road. I smiled and looked out the window. This is going so good, it's just a matter of time before it explodes in our faces.

We pulled through the driveway and both Nathan and my mom's car was home. Oh god..... Something is wrong. I thought in my head. Sean and I looked at each other and walked towards the door slowly. I wonder what is wrong. Sean opened the door and we looked to see where mom and Nathan was. We made our way to the living room. There sat my mom, Nathan and Emily. They all looked at us and Nathan shook his head.

"What's going on?" Sean asked. Nathan got up from the couch and walked over to us.

"We got a call from the school principal today. Talking about your little incident." Nathan said and stopped for a second. Oh god, this can't be good.

"WHY THE HELL DID YOU KISS YOUR STEP BROTHER?!" Nathan shouted at the both of us, making me flinch.

"Because we are in love dad." Sean responded calmly. HOW THE HELL IS HE CALM?! I shouted in my head.

Nathan raised his hand and slapped Sean across the face. "You are not in love! You are not gay!" He shouted in his face.

"NATHAN!" Mom shouted at him.

"My son is not a loud to be gay Rachel! I forbid it! I forbid these two being together!" Nathan shouted and then turned his head to look at me.

"How can you let this happen Lucas?!" He shouted.

"It just sort of happened. Love happens you know." I said sarcastically.

"I love Lucas dad. And you are not going to forbid me. This is not the 18th century." Sean said and Nathan slapped him again.

"NATHAN! STOP!" Mom shouted. Nathan turned around and looked at mom.

"I don't see how you can forbid your own child for being who he is. You should see how happy he is to be with Lucas! You off all people should see that. He is your own son." Mom shouted at him and stormed off.

"I think they are cute together dad." Emily shrugged and stormed off into her room. I couldn't help but chuckle. Nathan looked at me with a vicious look.

"You think this is funny?" Nathan shouted at me.

"If mom was still here she would be so ashamed of you." Sean spat in his face and stormed off. I heard the car start from the front door being open. I ran out to see what he was doing.

"SEAN!" I shouted. He just ignored me and drove off instantly. I sighed and walked back inside, shutting the door behind me.

Nathan looked at me and shook his head. He stormed off to his office, slamming the door behind him.

"Are Sean and Nathan always like this?" I said out loud. I walked back up into my room and began to wonder where Sean went. Please be careful Sean. I whispered.

It's been four hours and still no call nor text. I began to freak out. Where could he be? I walked back and forth in my room thinking about where he went. Then an imaginary light bulb flickered above my head. I ran downstairs and grabbed my mom's keys.

"Where you going?" Mom asked. I turned and looked at her. I could see she was crying. I walked over and gave her a hug and a kiss on the forehead.

"I am going to find Sean." I said and walked out of the house. I started the car and squealed my tires at I drove off. If he is not here, then I have no idea where he could be.

I pulled into the graveyard and spotted Sean's car. Why does Sean have to be in the graveyard at night? I gulped and grabbed my phone for a flashlight. I looked around for Thirty minutes until I finally found Sean at his mother's grave.

I walked over to him and sat down next to him. I kept looking forward at his mother's grave.

"How'd you know I would be here?" Sean asked.

"If I know one thing about you, it's how much you really loved your mom." I responded. He whipped his tears and sniffled.

"I feel like I am alone in this world ever since my mom left." Sean said with sorrow in his voice.

"You don't have to be alone anymore." I said and turned to look at Sean. "You have me." I added and his eyes stared into mine. He let out a soft frown and crashed his lips into mine. I could taste the hurt and passion at the same time. He laid me down on the soft grass and was on top of me. I moaned as he nibbled on my bottom lip. But then my mind went somewhere else. I pushed him off of me.

"We are not doing this when your mom is watching me." I said and Sean started laughing.

"Mom, this is Lucas." Sean said as he looked back at his mom grave.

"Do you talk to her all the time?"

"All the time. Even though at first I didn't think she was listening. Then I believed that she was always here with me. No matter what."

"I bet your mom loves you just the way you are."

"She knew I was gay. She told me before she died that she can tell that I was a little off. I was gay before you. I just told myself after she died that I was straight. So I just believe I was. I closed my heart a long time ago..... Until now."

"You was gay the whole time?" I questioned. He nodded and smiled.

"I am in love with you Lucas. Literally crazy in love."

"Your dad said we can't be together."

"Just because we can't be together doesn't mean I won't love you."

"I am afraid that if we be together, your dad will divorce my mom. My mom is happy Sean. I don't want to ruin that for her."

"My dad loves your mom. I doubt that will happen."

"You don't know that...." I stopped and tears filled my eyes.

"We are meant to love..... But my mom...... She knew something was going on with us. But your dad on the other hand. I don't know what he would do."

"My dad won't do anything. Trust me."

"I trust you.... I just don't trust myself."

"What does that mean?" He questioned. I whipped my tears.

"I don't know if we can be together. Your dad will hate me." Tears started to fall even more.

He leaned over and grabbed my hand. Rain started to fall. I looked up and sighed.

"No one will stop me from being in love with you Lucas." Sean said. The rain started to make his hair fall over his left eye.

"Prove to me that you love me."

"If you want me to tell you how much I love you, I can go all night."

"People say you are a heartbreaker." I said and looked at him.

"I would never break you. You mean the world to me. You are the only reason that I keep going. You are my rock. You are safe with me." He responded.

I crashed my lips into his. The rain made our lips glide along each other like a dolphin glides in the water. His hands cupped my face. I feel so safe with Sean. I know that no one is going to hurt me. Never.....
