Give Me A Reason

"Nice place."

I looked up to see Capcicle himself walking around, looking at the place. I had made a stone "stage" behind the statue of my mom and I.

To hell if my dad was included.

I know, I feel bad, it's in my nature to feel guilty, but god he's a jerk. No pun indended. Well... I mean... Yeah.

"Yeah well." I murmured, staring at the smooth stone, resting my head on my knees. "It's my place."

"And you had to make it all beautiful and perfect." He teased, making hand gestures which made me laugh a bit.

He sat down at the edge, which was technically infront of me since I was facing the east wall if you came out from the elevator/stairs.

I smiled weakly and closed my eyes, scooting a bit closer to him.

"Why are you here?"

I opened my eyes and peered into his. He shrugged and I sighed mentally. Dammit Rogers, always the open book... And yes that was sarcasm.

Silence engulfed the room, the only sound was the waterfall spilling over from god knows where. Heh. God.

"I protected Cybelle because I knew she was an innocent child and she reminded me of you."

I froze and cocked my head to the side, squinting my eyes at him.

"Don't give me that look Alina." He said seriously. "I did it for you because if you found out I let her die, you'd somehow bring me back to life and slit my throat yourself."

I cracked a smile and shifted so we were sitting side by side, out legs almost touching. Almost.

I guess the only reason why I felt so comfortable around him was because he was the only person I actually fought and could defeat me; in other words, he could take me down if I lost control.

"I'll take that as a compliment."

I groaned mentally and felt my face heat up. Old habits die hard, right, right? Right? No? Okay.

"I said that out loud didn't I?"

He chuckled and nodded, patting my shoulder with a small smirk.
"You're a strange woman."

"You're an old man."

"You're one year younger than me."

"Touchè." I muttered, glancing up to face him. He chuckled and moved his hand down to my waist, holding me closer. I tensed slightly but relaxed and rested my head on his shoulder.

"I never did forgive myself for letting you go with them." He said quietly.

I chuckled darkly and grit my teeth at the memory of being ripped from his grasp. I think I still have a scar on my arm or something.

"I volunteered." I recalled. "But you refused to let me go, so they had to literally grab me."

He let out a laugh and I wrapped my left arm aound his waist, snuggling further into him.

"I probably look like a clingly girlfriend." I muttered. "But... Cap, Steve, before we get intimate and all hat cheesy stuff..." I pulled away from him to stare into his eyes. "I want to be able to trust myself with you and the team, Avengers and SHIELD. I know we talked about... Us, in the cell, but I want to be sure I won't hurt anyone."

His eyes softened and his kissed my forehead, and my heart fluttered at the feeling of his familiar soft lips on my skin.

"Whatever it takes." He murmured, pulling away.

I melted in relief and he cupped my face with one hands, pulling my face closer to his...

"Capcicle! Rosalina!"

We pulled away instantly as Stark himself strolled in with the rest of the team behind him.

Way to ruin a moment Iron Twat.

"Rosalinda?" I questioned wih a small snort. "What kind of name is that?"

"Well your signature mark is a rose." Tony pointed out like it was the most obvious thing in the world, which it is, "And there's a Mario character named Rosalinda and I think you two could be twins."

"Aren't her eyes blue?" Clint asked, clearly annoyed that Stark skipped a bit of info.

"How would you know that?" I smirked, crossing my arms over my chest.

"Well... I-"

I giggled and gestured for him to come over, too lazy to walk over to him. He walked over and I kissed his cheek, patting his face lightly.

"You're a geek." I stated cheekily. "And an old man."

"You're a 93 year old ex-assassin who is in looove with Capcicl- hey!"

I looked behind his shoulder to see a smirking Nat, who had slapped him in the head.

"You're a man." She teased. "Take it."

I burst out laughing and high fived Nat, who hugged Clint lightly.

"Aww I'm joking." She said teasingly, poking his cheek. "And you're a weakling."

"You're a... Oh what ever."

I giggled and moved back to sit with Steve. I looked up at him and admired how he remained the same after all those years; same soft blonde hair, sparkling blue eyes, strong jawline and kissable lips... Yeah, I know, I'm going soft.

All because of Steven Grant Rogers.

"Tony..." I began as he led me through Avengers Tower. "You don't have to do this for me..."

"Well you're technically one of us." He cut in with a wink. "Plus I'll do anything to get Capcicle a girl. A hot one at that." He added.

I chuckled and used my telekenisis to guide my luggage into my new room, dropping them once they all disappeared into my room.

Hey, procastination is a bitch....

Tony had led me to my new room while the others got the main floor ready for a little party they were throwing me as a welcome back to SHIELD gift.

Me being the modest person I was, I refused and even suggested to go to the shwarma place I know Tony liked, but he ended up inviting the whole SHIELD crew, including Fury.

"You know..." He began. "Ever since he's heard of your presence in the present, he's been acting up, differently, like..."

"Sarcastic, meaner, cooler, sassier?"

"Exactly..."

I laughed as we entered the elevator.

"Main floor JARVIS." Tony instucted, leaning on the bar in the small space.

Once the doors opened, Tony and I stepped out, and I stopped to watch as everyone cleaned up and decorated.

"Everything here is available to you, except our rooms unless you have permission of course, and I had JARVIS unblock all possible escape routes, including the vents." Tony recited wih a tiny smirk. "Other than that...

"Welcome to the family."
