The city buzzed like a live wire-beneath its glittering skyline, tension grew thicker with each passing day. Xiao Zhan and Yibo, once boss and secretary, now stood on opposite sides of a shadow war neither could walk away from. And yet, destiny still tied their fates in ways they hadn't begun to comprehend.

A Shift in the Sean Mafia
Inside the grand, high-rise headquarters of Sean Mafia, Xiao Zhan stood before a digital board, watching red dots blink across a map of the city. His features were emotionless, but his mind burned with calculations.
Lin Hui entered the room. "The backup accounts are active. The funds from the compromised banks have been moved offshore."
Xiao Zhan nodded. "Good. Yibo got a piece of the puzzle, but not the whole picture. He thinks he's close to cornering me."
He tapped the screen. A red dot blinked in the western docks.
"But he's not ready for what's coming next."
"What about the traitors?" Lin Hui asked.
"They're being handled," Xiao Zhan said coldly. "Silence one, and the others fall in line."
He turned from the map. "We'll show Yibo what happens when someone declares war on a ghost."

Yibo's Discovery
At an abandoned mechanic's shop, Yibo sat surrounded by screens, maps, and lists. His face bore fresh bruises, his lip split from the bank fight. But his mind remained sharper than ever.
"We got more than we thought," Liu Zhen said, placing a file before him.
Yibo opened it and his brows furrowed. Shell companies. Offshore accounts. Laundering routes. All connected to Sean Mafia.
But one name made his hand pause-Zhan Holdings.
"...Zhan Holdings?" he whispered.
Liu Zhen tilted his head. "What is it?"
Yibo's heart skipped. Zhan Holdings was the official corporate name of Xiao Zhan's empire-the very company he worked for.
"Wait. Are you telling me the money trail leads to my boss's company?"
Liu Zhen nodded slowly. "It does. You think it's a coincidence?"
Yibo stood, heart pounding. "No. Not anymore."
His mind raced. "Sean Mafia. Zhan Holdings. Xiao Zhan..."
A sickening possibility began to crawl into his chest.
"No," he muttered. "No way."

A Dangerous Doubt
That night, Yibo walked into Zhan Holdings' office. It was late, but he had access-he still played the role of the secretary. His steps were light, controlled, but his heart thundered.
He passed by Xiao Zhan's private office and stopped.
The door was locked, as always. But Yibo had once made a duplicate key for emergencies.
His fingers hovered over the hidden compartment in his cardholder.
Do I really want to know?
But the growing suspicion-no, fear-demanded the truth.
He slid the key in and turned the knob.
The room was cold, dimly lit. Expensive. Imposing.
Yibo walked past the massive oak desk, toward the bookshelf... Something caught his eye. A framed photo on the shelf.
It was old. Xiao Zhan-years younger, surrounded by men in black. Their faces were familiar-he had seen them in files on Sean Mafia.
Yibo's throat went dry.
Then something else. A red folder, slightly hidden behind a row of books. He pulled it out and flipped it open.
Operation: Ghost Spider
Objective: Control financial networks, suppress rogue movements.
Lead: "Sean"
Yibo froze.
"Sean..."
His knees nearly buckled as the realization hit him like a bullet.
Xiao Zhan is Sean.

The Game Just Changed
Yibo barely made it out of the office before collapsing into his car, trembling. Rage, betrayal, confusion-everything hit him at once.
I hired the mafia to beat up... the mafia boss.
I hired someone to kill Xiao Zhan... not knowing he was the king of the underworld.
What terrified him more was the fact that Zhan didn't retaliate in full force.
Did he already know?
Was he playing me all along?

Xiao Zhan's Reflection
In another part of the city, Xiao Zhan stood at his penthouse balcony, swirling a glass of wine.
He had seen the office security logs. He knew Yibo had broken into his office.
So, he thought, Yibo finally knew.
A smirk played on his lips. But deep in his chest, something ached.
He'll hate me now. He'll fear me. He'll want revenge.
But a whisper of doubt crossed his mind:
Why does that hurt?

End of Chapter
Secrets have finally come to light. Yibo now knows the truth-that his cold, arrogant CEO is none other than the leader of the very mafia he declared war against. But what will he do with this truth? Will he run? Confront him? Or... something else?
