When Izuku stepped into Aesthetic Ideals, he immediately froze. A chilling voice whispered from around the corner, echoing eerily through the dim corridor. Creeping forward, he turned the corner—and there he was: Dr. Kai Chisaki, hunched over the lifeless body of some unfortunate soul, murmuring something inaudible.
"I hope that freak isn't doing anything disgusting with that body..." Jiro muttered, her face turning green. "Damn it! Why did I have to imagine that?! Now I won't be able to eat for a while!"
"Good, because after hearing that, even I can't get those images out of my head," her mother said, looking just as disgusted. "Seriously, can't you keep thoughts like that to yourself?"
"I don't see what the big deal is," Jiro's father said as he shoved cheesy nachos into his mouth. "I could still eat fifty or so—" He cut himself off when he felt the burning glares from both his wife and daughter.
Unfortunately for Izuku, Dr. Chisaki noticed him. The deranged doctor immediately bolted, and before Izuku could give chase, Chisaki detonated the passage behind him, sealing off the entrance with a thunderous blast.
"See? I told you it was too early for this wild goose chase to be over," Nezu said with a light chuckle, his eyes gleaming with amusement. "Even with gun-wielding lunatics roaming the halls, it's Rapture's sheer unpredictability that makes it such a dangerous place to survive."
"I suppose I was just hoping the situation would resolve itself without putting too much strain on young Midoriya's counterpart," All Might replied with a weary sigh. "But really—who would've thought a doctor of all people would just be carrying around a fire grenade?"
"You really are a dumbass, Yagi," Gran Torino scoffed, cutting in abruptly and making All Might flinch. "Have you not been paying attention? From what I've seen, violence is the only damn language anyone in that hellhole understands. Doesn't matter if it's some deranged doctor or a so-called 'civilian'—everyone's armed to the teeth and ready to throw down."
Frustrated, Izuku punched the nearby wall—only to hear Atlas's voice crackle through the radio. "You'll have to find some way to get through to surgery... and Chisaki. Chin up, now. The Lord hates a quitter."
"Well, I do appreciate his faith in the Lord, but still..." Ibara frowned. "His words feel empty—like he's only saying them to keep Midoriya's counterpart on his feet."
"You have no doubt in the truth of your intuition," Yagani remarked, a furrow forming on their brow. "I, too, find my instincts whispering that this individual known as Atlas may be far more dubious than he appears."
Izuku was just about to respond when he noticed movement from above—a splicer on the balcony, lugging a crate of explosives, forcing him to hide.
"I can hear that splicer sounding off like it's the 4th of July," Atlas said, right as the splicer lobbed a firebomb at another. "Explosives are hard to come by down here, but if you get your hands on one of them Telekinesis plasmids, you could catch the damn firebombs and loss it right back in his gob... or anything else that might be standing in your way."
Determined to find the Telekinesis plasmid, Izuku headed back into the Medical Pavilion.
"Ugh, damn it—another fetch quest?" Kaminari groaned, slumping back in his seat. "Feels like Atlas is just making Midoriya's counterpart run around like his personal errand boy. 'Go here, grab that, fix this'—it's nonstop."
"I know, right?" Mina said with a nod, her brows furrowed in sympathy. "Just watching him sprint across that nightmare of a city while dodging bullets and Splicers is exhausting."
