A/N: Hey guys! Sorry for taking so long to update this. Part of me didn't want to return to Wattpad, and the other was swamped with chaos. Suffice to say I have been busy. Between graduating, working on a musical, publishing my first and second novels, work, and my parents splitting, I've been a little sidetracked, hahaha. But I'm back. I want to finish this story soon since it's already been a few years since it's creation and I've been procrastinating the heck out of it. But please enjoy and I hope to wrap up Sold by the end of the year. Have a wonderful day!
Kakashi returned to the fight in complete distress. All of this had happened right under his nose and he was blind to it. He thought of a thousand apologies to give the young man he failed, but none offered the life he deserved.
"Kakashi-sensei!" Sakura dove for her teacher, pulling him out of the way of an oncoming water dragon. He staggered to his feet and brought his student out of harms way. "What happened?" she desperately asked, still wrapping her head around the disappearance of both Kakashi and Jiraiya.
"Never mind it." Kakashi masked his turmoil well. "For now, try get one of these on him. Pass to the others if you can."
Sakura knew the tone of her sensei's voice all too well. He was rattled and thrown off his game, something the young kunoichi found terrifying to dwell on. Placed in her hand were a stack of small papers, each painted with seals.
"Throw them if you need to, just get as close as you safely can. He won't kill you, but that does not mean you're going to avoid the hospital. Rally your peers and finish this quickly." Kakashi watched as Fox still fought Guy. Both were unwavering, determined to come out on top. He trusted Guy to hold back enough to mitigate the chance of death, but understood that Fox was twice as skilled in that are. If Fox wanted them dead, they would have been gone the instant he stepped onto the field.
Sakura nodded as Kakashi remained distracted. "Yes Sensei." she bolted to Shikamaru, who watched from the sidelines, panting and sweating. Neji had woken up not long before Kakashi's disappearance, only to find that electric chakra still flowed through his veins and rendered him useless.
"Remind me not to get on Naruto's bad side." Shikamaru commented, eyes darting around, watching his former classmate curiously. Such skill at a young age did not come easily, not even to those considered prodigies. It was a drag to have to do this in the first place, and now he couldn't even have the satisfaction of winning. The odds of the fight were in their favour. With two Jonin and one of the three Sannin, Shikamaru honestly expected them to win. But Naruto was something else entirely. Sharp, intelligent, and wielding an array of jutsu that put Kakashi to shame, Shikamaru was suddenly terrified by the notion that the blond still held himself back in the fight.
Shimakaru shuddered. A piece of paper was suddenly held in front of him. With a raised brow, he interrogated Sakura through a snicker.
"What does Kakashi expect us to do with this?" holding the paper with between two fingers, Shikamaru had half a mind to laugh at the jonin's pointless plan. "It isn't as though we could get close enough to use it."
All Sakura managed was a shrug. "Kakashi sensei said that even throwing them could be enough, but he was adamite on using them." she glanced at her peers, who were all bruised and hurt, yet had no blood drawn. The anomaly of Fox left Sakura with greater curiosity. "Are any of you capable of running a second round?" her inquisition brough Kiba to his feet.
"You're darn right I am. Let's go, Akamaru!" so the boy grabbed three seal papers and dashed into the chaos once again. His peers did nothing to stop him, as they wisely acknowledge it to be a waste of energy.
