Sunggyu's POV

I opened my eyes and I was still a little dopey. Seems like six hours of sleep hadn't really eased the weight of the hours I spent yesterday roaming around looking for Jieun's place. I got up from the couch and called out her name but there was no answer. I headed to the kitchen and saw a small note on the table. It said:

'Good morning hamster Gyu. I realised that there was nothing to eat in the fridge so I've gone to the supermarket nearby to get something for breakfast. Don't leave before I come back or you'll regret it! :-P'

I unconsciously smiled after reading her note. "She really hasn't forgotten about me" I mumbled and let out a sigh.

I went to tidy up the living room a little and I was folding the blanket Jieun gave me when the doorbell rang.

"Did you forget your keys?" I asked while rushing to open the door but to my surprise it wasn't her but a guy. He looked at me for a few seconds and then furrowed his brow.

"Can I help you?" I asked to break the silence since he didn't look like he would talk soon.

"Is Jieun here?" he asked and I think there was a hint of aggressiveness in his voice.

"No, she went to get something for breakfast. Who are you?" I asked.

"I'm Jin, Jieun's friend. Will she be back soon?" he asked

"Ow do you want to come in and wait for her? She will be back soon" I suggested and made way for him to enter the appartment but he stayed in his place.

"Why are you here so early in the morning?" he continued his questions.

"I slept here because it was too late to leave last night." I replied and his eyes grew bigger but his expression soon turned blank. He didn't speak after that. He turned his back to leave but stopped and looked back at me for a last time. It seemed as he wanted to say something but eventually he just left.

I closed the door and went to check my phone. 'What a weird guy. I'll ask Jieun about him when she returns' I thought.

Five minutes later the door opened and she came in holding a few grocery bags. She smiled at me and I smiled back.

"Are you just gonna sit there and look at me? Come and give me a hand" she said and I took some bags from her hands.

They were pretty heavy. Sometimes I wonder how can a small person like her be so strong. She always has been strong. I remember that one time when we were ten and we were playing at the park. I wasn't careful enough while playing tug and ended up falling on the ground and spraining my ankle. She stayed calm and collected despite my starting crying and carried me on her back all the way back home.

"Why are you smiling like that it's creepy" she said and I got back to present.

"It's nothing I just remembered the old good times when you were a chubby little girl that was bossing me around all the time." I teased her.

"Yah! I wasn't chubby. But it's true that I was the leader of our two membered gang." she said and we both started laughing.

After finishing with breakfast which I prepared since Jieun is not that good at cooking -okay she's simply bad- she started washing the dishes. I was sitting on the table checking for any messages on my phone. I noticed that there was one missed call from my mom. 'Should I call her now? She will probably want to come and meet Jieun too. But I want to spent some more time alone with her. I'll call her later. But what if she's worried about me. We haven't spoken the past two days.' I kept wondering what to do while looking at the screen of my phone.

I looked up and saw Jieun staring at me with a smirk plastered on her face.

"Oh no I know that expression" I said and covered my cheeks because I knew what was coming.

"You know you can't avoid it. When you pout you just wake up the pinching monster inside me." she said and started approaching me. I quickly stood up and she started chasing me around the table. I decided to give up and she pinched my cheeks with all her might. She started walking backwards while pinching me and she stumbled and fell on the ground with me landing on top of her.

We kept silent for a while staring at each other. I was looking at her eyes and then at her lips. I started leaning closer but she automatically shut her eyes and covered her mouth with her hand. I felt a pinch but now it was on my heart.

"I've really missed you Jieun. I just wish I could go back in time and change everything." I whispered and planted a kiss on her forehead before getting up. I offered my hand to help her up and she willingly took it. She was looking at me and then held my face with both of her hands and pulled it closer to hers while standing on the tip of her toes.

"I've missed you too Sunggyu. You can't go back in time but all I need from you is to stand by my side from now on and make up for the lost time." she said and gave a soft kiss on my forehead.

"Okay so what should we do tomorrow?" I asked to change the subject because I could feel my face burning up.

"Oh I'm sorry I already have plans for tomorrow. I'm having cooking lessons." she said and her eyes sparkled.

"Really? Where?" I asked surprised.

"At Jin's place. He's the one who helped me to gradually get over the past. He and his roommates of course. They are my family now. You'll definitelly meet them soon" she said excitedly but I felt a little disappointed. I know I should be happy that she found someone who helped her ease the pain but I wanted to be the one.

"Jin? So he was Jin." I said remembering about the guy who passed by in the morning. "He came here in the morning looking for you." I said and noticed her cheeks turning a little red. Was it because of him?

"O-Okay I'll call him later to find out what he wanted." she said.

"I'll leave now. I'll show you where the appartment that I'm going to rent is next time." I said and we said goodbye.
