**Camille's POV**

"So are you excited to meet the transfer student?" Emily poked me as we walked down the corridor to our classroom. I let out a laugh. "Yeah I guess...but I bet you are more excited than me," I gave her a smirk as we strolled into the room. We took a step in and Emily stopped dead in her tracks, her gaze fixed on a boy with ruffled hair, at her seat. The transfer student! Hm well he's quite good looking I guess... "Oh so you're the 'transfer student'? Well I got excited for nothing. Get out of my seat, Noah." Her words were as ice cold as her glare. "Woah...relax Em. Okay okay I'll move," He gave her a slight wink and shifted to the seat behind mine. I lifted my eyebrow at Emily and slid into my seat which was next to hers.

"You know him?"

"He was from my tuition."

"You hate him?"

"Well...stuff happened and we aren't on good terms. Don't worry about it though."

The bell rang and I mouthed a silent 'oh' as a reply and turned back to the teacher. That's weird...why didn't she tell me the 'stuff' that happened? Nevermind, she told me not to worry about it so I guess it's not important.
"Hey!" I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned to see Noah grinning at me.

"Whats your name?"

"Camille Anderson,"

"Well Camille it's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Noah Edwards and hopefully you're not as cold as Em," he smirked at her as she turned.

"Don't. Call. Me. That." She sounded so angry that I got scared.

Noah just continued smiling and didn't reply. Halfway through the lesson Emily left for the bathroom so Noah moved beside me. "What's up with you and Em?" I questioned and got a more than useless reply. "Oh, she didn't tell you? I guess she really hates me to the core then," He smiled. I sighed to myself. What was up with him and smiling? I looked to the left, in time to see a group of inspectors walking with the principal outside the window. "Why is the board of education so strict. I see them here once every two months," I mumbled softly. "Bored of education? I do believe I am." Noah kept a straight face while saying that and I couldn't help but laugh. Soon, Emily returned and Noah scooted back to his seat. "What happened while I was gone?" She eyed me knowingly.

"Well I learnt that Noah's quite funny,"

"Funny?! You've got to be kidding me."

"Hey I don't know what happened between you guys but maybe he changed?"

"Cam, I don't think guys can change that quickly. Especially someone like him."

I immediately stopped talking, stunned by her words. Throughout the day Noah and I talked more until class was over. When we were about to leave for home, Noah waved goodbye but Emily slapped my hand before I could respond. Emily and I were next door neighbours which was one of the best things in the world. We also had bedrooms beside each other so we made up emergency knocking codes. "Bye! See you tomorrow," I yelled to her as I entered my house, greeted by my maltese who jumped all over me. "Hey! I missed you," I gave my dog a big hug and went to say hi to my mom and my younger sister who was a year younger. I went to my room and had started wondering what 'stuff' happened between Emily and Noah when my phone beeped. 'One new message' appeared on the screen.

Hey Camille! Care to go out for some coffee? You're really cool :)
-Noah

"How did he get my number..." I mumbled softly as I typed a reply.

Um ok I guess...by the way, how did you get my number...? I'm pretty sure I never gave it to you.

Almost immediately, I received a reply.

I have my ways ;) Meet you at the starbucks down your street (I'm pretty sure you stay near Em) in 10 minutes.

His secrecy was starting to get on my nerves but I typed back an "Okay" and changed into denim shorts, a sweatshirt, a pair of black vans and pulled my hair back into a ponytail. After telling my mom where I was going I grabbed my house keys, phone and wallet and walked out the door. I arrived at starbucks to see Noah sitting at one of the tables at the back. "On time. Not bad. What do you want? I'll treat you," Noah winked at me and I felt bad for letting him treat me but I told him what I wanted anyway. A few minutes later he came back with our drinks. He got a venti mocha frapp and handed me my venti caramel cream. "A venti? Well now I feel worse than I did a minute ago," I looked at him guiltily but he told me that it was fine. We spent the next two hours talking and sharing about our lives, sipping our drinks little by little. As we kept talking, my heart kept beating rapidly and I felt tingly. When I finally left for home, I decided to confront my feelings. What's going on? Do I like Noah? I couldn't get myself to accept that fact. And then I remembered that he was the guy Emily hated.
