**Noah's POV**
"Camille, will you be my girlfriend?"
I stared at her eyes intently, waiting. Please say yes. My heart was palpitating, afraid of what her reply would be. I was afraid of rejection. In my entire life, I never got rejected once. And I wouldn't want this to be the first.
"I guess so..."
Her sweet voice interrupted my thoughts. Yes! She finally said yes! I smirked at her. "Try again."
She sighed. "I would like to, very much." We locked eyes and I smiled, leaning forward to hug her.
"Okay, now I've really got to go. See you monday!" She broke the hug and ran off. This was undoubtly more blissful than silence. I decided to stay at the beach a little longer, reciting everything that just happened. I bet Mike will be happy to know that we're together now. Haha, Em will probably skewer me alive though. I heard footsteps. "Noah! You're still here? What happened to that girl? Who's she?" Tricia came back. I sighed inwardly. "Yes I am, I was about to leave. 'That girl' happens to be my girlfriend, and she went to meet her friend." Boy, it felt great to finally refer to her as my girlfriend. Before Tricia could reply me, I quickly bid her goodbye, walked to my car and drove off.
When I reached my house, Mike was still there, awaiting my arrival. The moment I stepped foot into the room, he bombarded me with a ton of questions. "I can tell that you just love my private life, don't you?"
"Oh just shut up and tell me. Are you guys together or what?" His eyes were pleading me to tell him.
"We obviously are. Why would she say no to me?" Mike glared at me. "I'm kidding."
"Well what about Emily?"
"What about her? You don't think I still hav-" I raised an eyebrow at him, confused.
"No! Not that! I know you don't. I meant, was she angry?"
"I don't think she knows yet..."
"Oh." He stopped, probably shocked that she didn't know.
"What. She doesn't have to know yet. It barely happened an hour ago." I crossed my arms and stared at him.
"You asked her when you were about to leave? Why?" Hearing that, I sighed.
"I had to make sure that I wouldn't regret asking her." Was he really that stupid?
"Anyway, Emily messaged me." I jolted upright. He then showed me his phone.
'Mike, I know that you and Noah talk often. Please make sure he stays away from my best friend. I don't want her to get hurt. And knowing him, he won't listen to me. I trust you. -Em'
I scrolled down more to see his reply.
'Em...Noah changed. Why can't you realise that? He won't hurt your best friend, give him a chance. -M'
After reading his reply, I beamed at him.
"Yeah yeah. Aren't I nice, defending you?" He proudly told me, before snatching his phone back. I pushed him, making him fall onto the soft mattress. "Great way to thank me. You ungrateful shit." We both knew that he was joking but he tried to give me a serious glare which made me double over with laughter. "You're welcome." I managed to say halfway through laughing.
"In all seriousness, are you going to tell Camille about you and Emily?"
"Nope."
"Not at all?"
"Well, not anytime soon...I don't want her to get the wrong idea."
"Don't girls get annoyed if you keep secrets from them or something?"
