====================================
In a blur of motion, Isaac faced off against Wally, the tension of their duel electric in the air. His blue and sharp eyes locked onto Wally's every twitch with a predator's patience, waiting for the right moment to strike. The speedster, usually swift as lightning, found himself entangled in a game of cat and mouse, struggling to keep pace with each move.
He was unaccustomed to facing an opponent with the precision and intuition that Isaac wielded like a finely honed weapon. Where Wally's attacks would typically come at Isaac like a torrential downpour, an overwhelming onslaught too fast for most to see, let alone counter, they now dripped slowly, sluggish, and ineffective. Frustration crept into his features as he realized his skills, rooted in speed, were being turned against him. He wondered if has used his speed as a crutch and now that was unable to use it—who was he?
But there was determination in his eyes as he grit his teeth and adapted his style. Rather than continuing his usual full-throttle approach, he decided to increase the power behind each strike, hoping brute strength might compensate for his uncharacteristic slowness.
The room seemed to shrink around their confrontation, each sound amplified, from the quickened breaths to the sharp whoosh of air displaced by every swing and lunge.
Yet, for Isaac, the world moved in the luxury of slow motion, and the chaos around him was orderly and precise. Wally's challenge, formidable to some, was to Isaac little more than a minor storm to be calmly waited out.
With his father's teachings etched into his muscle memory, Isaac danced around Wally's strongest blows with fluid grace, the rhythm of his movements a testament to years of rigorous training. He remained calm, his focus unyielding, and as Wally's patience thinned, Isaac was poised and ready to take advantage.
Finally, Isaac sensed the right moment. He stepped inside Wally's swing, sidestepping the hit and placing the speedster off balance. With a calculated swiftness, Isaac swept Wally's feet out from under him, sending him sprawling to the floor.
The impact might have been softened by a ragged mat on the concrete ground but it was enough to leave Wally breathless and wide-eyed, staring up at the ceiling in disbelief. Isaac stood over him, extending a hand with a grin that held no malice, just simple amusement and maybe the tiniest bit of sympathy.
"Who knew the world's fastest man could crash land like that," Isaac joked, his voice laced with mock innocence.
Wally took his hand with a reluctant smile. "You got lucky," he puffed as Isaac hauled him upright.
"You keep telling yourself that," Isaac replied.
They moved to the side of the training room, where Dinah leaned against a stack of wooden crates. Her eyes sparkled with quiet admiration as she handed them both water bottles.
"Like watching ballet," she murmured approvingly to Isaac. Then to Wally: "Looks like you're improving. Kept up almost five seconds longer this time."
"Gee, thanks," Wally said, rubbing a sore shoulder with exaggerated tenderness.
"You did well, Wally" Dinah encouraged. "It's good to practice against different style; becoming one dimension might cost you in a real fights."
Wally grunted, his frustration visible in every line of his body as he trudged away from the sparring ring. Despite Dinah's attempt to lift his spirits, the sting of defeat still clung to him. He shuffled back to where the rest of his team was assembled, his head hanging low and a sulk etched into his features. They rallied to console their friend's bruised pride as he reached Megan, Artemis, and Connor.
