What Luke and Calum look like in the story, dedication on 5millieswan5
--------------
The second day of school, well let's just say it wasn't as good as the day before. Yes, you could argue that Ashton was not lonely at though out the day as he was with his new friend Luke, him and Luke were now best friends, even though they hadn't known each other for long, they trusted each other.I mean, who wouldn't trust someone if they also had similar problems to each other, of course the similarities between the problems also had differences, for example, Luke suffered from depression, trust issues and other issues- he also had a slight stutter only when he's nervous about something. Now this might seem weird to most people, that Luke was able to trust Ashton within the little time he had known him, but Luke felt as though they had known each other for years.
Ashton already felt the urge to protect Luke, this was mainly because Luke has told Ashton what happened in his Product Design class. Luke's class were learning how to safely cut the wood with a crisp clean finish, his teacher Mr Peters asked for a volunteer to demonstrate how to cut the wood, and this boy named Calum said that Luke should do it as he is really good at cutting and that you should see his wrist.
However, during Ashton's chemistry lesson he was grouped with Michael, this boy named Calum, whom Ashton assumed was the boy Luke said about, and this girl named Kenzie. They were doing a practical with Magnesium, thus causing Ashton to believe that Michael would be sensible as well as Calum.
Well he was wrong.
This lead to Ashton and Kenzie bonding over their hate for the two boys, however Ashton, and he thought this in the straightest way, thought both Calum and Michael were unbelievably cute. This is what made Ashton's day bad- the fact he was questioning his sexuality.
Ashton pushed these thoughts to the side because he knew he was straight, he always has been... right?
Soon his chemistry lesson was coming to an end, and he was glad as that meant he would get to get away from Michael.
"It's um A-ashton right?" Kenzie questioned making her way over to Ashton.
"Yer, yer it is" Ashton replied, following closely behind his words came his award-winning smile.
"Ok good! Me and my friend Alice" Kenzie pointed over to a girl with bright blue hair, whom Ashton presumed was Alice, "we were wondering whether you wanted to sit with us, you seem quite cool, you can bring a friend if you want. Well if you have made friends that is. Oh my, that sounded rude! I'm so sorry, it's just because it took me a few days to make friends you see, but you have a cute accent so it must be easy for you. I'm sorry I'm rambling, I do that a lot, well so I have been told. Sorry I'll shut up."
Ashton was confused. Why did people want to sit with him? He barely had any friends at his last school, yeah he had his girlfriend, and he had his two close friends, but that was it really. But this was a new start, wasn't it? A new beginning, a new Ashton Fletcher Irwin. But he didn't want to push Luke into something when he could feel uncomfortable with being around these girl, so Ashton just told them that he will check with Luke to see if he wanted to go and join them.
So it was arranged that Ashton would meet them in the canteen with Luke if they decide to join the girls.
Luke was sat in the canteen waiting to see if he could see Ashton walk through the doors, after waiting 5 minutes and nearly having a panic attack, thinking that Ashton had already ditched him, he finally saw Ashton walking through the doors with a pot of chips in his hands.
When Ashton walked through the doors he saw Luke sitting there by himself, but then he also saw the two girls from earlier, Alice and Kenzie. He decided to go and stick with what he said to the girls, that he would ask Luke then see how it goes from there.
So that's what he did.
When he got to Luke he looked over to see if he could see the girls. He could, this would hopefully make it easier for Luke as this meant that he could get a look at the girls before they saw him.
"Hello there Lucas" Ashton playfully greeted the younger boy, Luke was only younger than Ashton by a few days (I know it's not in real life, but this is a fanfic so it's all made up anyway).
"H-hey Ash" Luke replied cheerfully, but Ashton noticed the relief in Luke's voice, he decided to ignore it as it was probably just a little thing.
"Hey erm Luke, I was wondering if you wanted to go sit with some new people? They seem nice, and they have good music taste, Alice, one of the girls, she was wearing a Nirvana bracelet!... so what do you think? Do you want to join them or we can stay here? They said they don't mind either way."
"Um, h-how many people are t-there going to be?" Luke stuttered nervously.
"Just two, they are both girls, ones called Kenzie and ones called Alice" Ashton replied happily considering Like was thinking about going.
"Y-yeah, I-i don't mind if you want to go, i-I'll just tag along, yeah"
That break went pretty well, other than the fact that these two girls whom where perched on a couple of the jocks laps kept looking over at us and laughing, Ashton guessed that neither Kenzie, Alice or Luke we're very popular and that there was at least a small degree of bullying.
Lunch was spent similarly, however they all decided to sit in one of the music rooms in the music blocks, this was so that Alice and Luke could practice their guitars. The end of lunch was coming up speedily, so they all decided to swap numbers.
Life was looking good for Ashton, well other than the thoughts of questioning his sexuality.
