My alarm springs to life. It startles me so much that i literally fall off the bed. Since I've been to that magical place I've been a bit on edge. I mean, who wouldn't be when you have all this on your hands. Ugh.
I finally get myself to get out of bed after about 1 hour. I throw on a sweater and some skinny jeans. I look in the mirror and gasp.
I. Look. Terrible. There are dark circles under my eyes from lack of sleep and my eyes are red. Oh my gosh. I grab my makeup and apply concealer, a light colored blush, and mascara. I honestly don't know why I'm trying to look nice, I never really try too. Who is there to impress? Me, myself and I?
I grab my converse and put them on. I look out the window. The weather seems nice so I might as well go and take a wa-
My thought are cut off as someone yells my name. My mom. Great [insert sarcasm].
"Liz! Someone's at the door to see you!" She calls out.
What.
Who could it be? I know no one and no one knows me. I sprint down the stairs to see who it is. I stop dead in my tracks.
It's a guy. And he's gorgeous. He has chestnut brown hair and these eyes. Those eyes. They're like a mix of green and blue but once you think it's green it seems to take a new turn to blue an vice versa.
"Has no one told you it's rude to stare," he says, looking at me.
"I- well- I mean-" I stutter.
Idiot!
He smiles and his teeth blind me. I'm not even exaggerating. I pinch my self to make sure I'm not dreaming. Nope. He is real.
"The names James, and you are?" He asks.
"Li- Elizabeth. My name is Elizabeth." I manage to spit out.
"Well, Elizabeth, I saw you walk around the neighborhood yesterday and I thought to myself, wow, that is a very pretty girl I have to meet because no one else is interesting in this chicken coop." He smiles again. His eyes show humor and I want to hug him so bad.
I blush and remember my mom is right behind me.
"Um. Mom could I um talk to him, alone?"
"Sure sweetie,"
My mouth opens to say something but he beats me to it.
"Do you like it here?" He asks.
"Eh,"
Wow. I could have said anything and i choose eh. Smooth.
"Well, it's nicer once you meet the folks around here," he says.
"I guess, so umm where to you live?"
Why did I have to sound like a freaking stalker?!
"Just down the street," he says.
"Um ok. That cool, I kinda have to go now sooooooo-"
"Oh that's fine. See you around," he flashes me another award winning smile and walks away.
