Chapter 12

I woke from thunder. I usually never wake up from thunder. Well I guess we're not going home today.

I got out of bed and went to look out of the window.

There were trees that had fallen down, leaves everywhere, rain that wouldn't stop, and thunder. Must've been really bad last night.

I went downstairs and saw everyone downstairs. "Why am I the one that always wakes up last?" I asked.

"Well everyone came downstairs around 8:30 in the morning because of thunder, but you didn't. So I'm guessing you're a deep sleeper." Andrew said. He chuckled.

"Hey guys I don't think we can leave today so you guys should call your parents and tell them." Landon said.

I nodded and walked upstairs to my phone. Grace tagged alone.

"So what's going on with you and Landon?" I asked.

"Well he asked me out to go on a date with him and I said yes." She said.

"Oh my gosh Grace! Why didn't you tell me? I'm so happy for you!" I squealed.

"I wanted to tell you, but I never could get you away from anyone. He won't tell me where we are going though. I hate surprises!" She said. I rolled my eyes and walked into my phone.

I dialed Aunt Karen's number. Ring ring ring.

"Hello?" Aunt Karen said

"Hey it's Layla." I said.

"Oh hey sweet girl! How's it going?" She asked.

"I'm doing great! It's a lot of fun here. There's one thing I have to tell you though." I said.

"What is it?" She asked.

"Well it's horrible weather here. We won't be able to come home today." I said.

"Oh gosh I haven't even looked outside today! Okay that's fine. We have school off tomorrow because of the weather." She said.

"Oh okay! Well ill see you tomorrow I love and miss you! Where's Ashley?" I asked.

"She's sleeping still and I love and miss you too!" She said.

"Alright well bye!" I said.

"Bye sweet girl." She said.

I hung up the phone and turned to Grace. "We have school off tomorrow." I said. "Yay!" She said.

"So have you used the L word with Andrew yet?" She asked.

"No not yet, our relationship isn't too serious yet." I said.

"Really? Because yesterday Daniel said that you guys were making out in the bathroom yesterday." She said. She laughed.

"Okay well. Wait he said that to all of you?" I kind of yelled.

"Yes." She said as she busted out laughing.

"Whatever." I said.

We walked downstairs to where the boys were. "We have school off tomorrow." I said.

"Yep. Delton county schools are all canceled tomorrow." Daniel said.

It was a few days later after I got back from the vacation we all had. I really had fun with all of them. I really bonded with Andrew's friends. Well not really Daniel. I don't really think he lets anyone in ever since Emily had passed.

On late Monday night when I came home Aunt Karen had a man over. I didn't really know what to do or say so I kind of stood on the doorway with a 'who is this man?' Look on my face.
