Not, because she's being a little kid, but because she feels a little dizzy and drowsy. She notices Natasha seems more worried than normal. She isn't scared. Death has never really scared her. A little something Madame B drilled in her.
"It was him. He looked right at me like he didn't even know me." Steve says and Dani frowns slightly in sympathy. If what happened to Bucky happened to Nat, she wouldn't be sure what to do with myself.
"How's that even possible? It was like seventy years ago." Sam questions.
"Zola. Bucky's whole unit was captured in '43, Zola experimented on him. Whatever he did helped Bucky survive the fall. They must have found him and..." Steve explains. Dani remember Grace teaching me about how Steve saved Bucky's unit in the war. Of course then she wasn't bleeding out.
"None of that's your fault, Steve." Dani says in sympathy.
"Even when I had nothing, I had Bucky." Steve states.
"We need to get a doctor here. We don't put pressure on that wound she's gonna bleed out here in the truck." Sam says and Natasha nods in agreement.
"I'm fine..." The younger redhead says in protest. She didn't like everyone worrying about her. It makes her feel weak and helpless. The Red Room would've surely had her six feet under by now.
Natasha gives Dani a look.
"You're bleeding out and your face is the color of a ghost. You're not fine, kiddo." Natasha says and Dani rolls her eyes.
"Not a kid anymore, sis." She mumbles. Natasha, Clint and Laura still considered Dani a kid, considering she was the youngest SHEILD agent along with being the youngest Avenger. Steve also tended to call her a kid, probably because he's much older. Dani tends to hate all of this considering she's been an adult since she was 6.
"You're a kid in my eyes." Natasha says with a smirk and Dani focuses on not passing out.
A guard suddenly neutralizes another guard with an electric rod. The guard then takes off the helmet to reveal themselves as Acacia Cleveland.
"Ah. That thing was squeezing my brain," She says. "Hey Sammy." Acacia waves and smirks calling him a nickname out of boredom.
"Hey..." Sam says unamused and Dani's smirk grows.
Natasha looks confused as to how they knew eachother.
"He went on a run with Steve and I. Unfortunately we lost." Acacia says with a pout.

Natasha supports Dani as she gets out of the van.
"GSW," Hill, who also happened to be there, says. "She's lost at least a pint."
"Maybe two." Sam replies.
"Let me take her." The doctor says.
"She'll want to see him first." Acacia says and Dani raises an eyebrow in curiosity.
The 6 go near a hospital bed.
"About damn time," None other than Nick Fury himself speaks. Dani looks in complete shock. Natasha is also quite surprised. "Lacerated spinal column, cracked sternum, shattered collarbone, perforated liver, one hell of a headache.
"Don't forget your collapsed lung." The doctor adds, whilst stitching up Dani's shoulder.
"Oh, let's not forget that. Otherwise, I'm good." Fury says.
"They cut you open, your heart stopped." Dani points out.
"And you woke us up too early to deal with you fake dying. I need my beauty sleep!" Acacia complains.
Dani shoots Acacia a look that makes her quickly shut up.
"You sacrifice some things when you join SHEILD." Natasha explains with a shrug.
"Or HYDRA apparently," Dani adds with a wince. She turns back to Fury. "Anyways, how the hell are you even alive?"
"Tetrodotoxin B. Slows the pulse to one beat a minute. Banner developed it for stress," Fury explains "Didn't work so great for him, but we found a use for it."
"Why all the secrecy? Why not just tell us?" Steve questions.
"Any attempt on the director's life had to look successful." Maria explains.
"Can't kill you if you're already dead. Besides, I wasn't sure who to trust." Fury states. Dani frowns slightly. Fury probably wasn't 100% sure if she was on their side or a HYDRA sleeper. Seeing as she hasn't killed anyone yet it seems like she isn't in fact one.

"This man declined the Nobel Peace Prize. He said, "Peace wasn't an achievement, it was a responsibility." See, it's stuff like this that gives me trust issues." Fury explains.
"We have to stop the launch." Dani says though she is more quiet than usual. Pierce could still pull out her trigger words and that would be that. Stupid mental block. Blurred out their faces and she was never told the names of any of the HYDRA agents in case of being compromised. Had she known she could've told them faster. Saved the launch from ever happening.
"I don't think the Council's accepting my calls anymore." Fury says and pulls a case containing three chips.
"What's that?" Sam asks.
"Once the Helicarriers reach three thousand feet," Hill explains, turning to the computers. "they'll triangulate with Insight satellites becoming fully weaponized."
"We need to breach those carriers and replace their targeting blades with our own." Fury says.
"One or two won't cut it." Hill states. "We need to link all three carriers for this to work, because if even one of those ships remains operational a whole lot of people are gonna die."
"We have to assume everyone aboard those carriers is HYDRA," Fury says. "We need to get pass them, insert the server blades, and maybe, just maybe, we can salvage what's left..."
'We're not salvaging anything," Steve explains. "We're not just taking down the carriers, Nick, we're taking down SHIELD."
"SHIELD had nothing to do with it." Fury says.
"You gave me this mission, this is how it ends. SHIELD's been compromised, you said so yourself," Steve says. "HYDRA grew right under your nose and nobody noticed."
"Why do you think we're meeting in this cave? I noticed." Fury says.
"And how many paid the price before you did?" Steve asks.
"Look, I didn't know about Barnes." Fury says.
"Even if you have, would you have told me? Or would you have compartmentalized that too?" Steve says. "SHIELD, HYDRA, it all goes."
Dani stays quiet. Natasha notices and wraps an arm around her. For once she's actually scared of the outcome. Acacia looks at Dani in worry l, but she gives her a reassuring smile.
"He's right." Hill says. Fury looks at Natasha, Dani, Hill and Acacia before looking at Sam.
"Don't look at me. I do what he does, just slower." Sam says.
"Well... Looks like you're giving the orders now, Captain." Fury says.
