Dreams and falling trees (Chp 14)

*Dash's Pov*
Me, Peter, Katie, and Victor(Scars Dad) made out way back to the house. We walked in and stopped short at the amount of people in the kitchen. The rest of her band and some random kids.
"Uh Scar?" I called and she came out of the kitchen.
She walked over to us and whispered,
"I know my band is early but I don't know the kids at all."
Peter laughed and walked to them and talked to them.
"Those are some friends of his." Katie explained and walked over to them and started chatting.
I grabbed Sarrice and pulled her aside.
"What's up?" She looked at me questioningly.
"Just wanted to say thanks for leaving me with your brother and Dad." I said sarcastically.
"Oh no problem they're great aren't they?" She replied quickly but not looking at me she was looking behind me.
I turned and saw someone standing by the front door on the outside.
"Peter!" She called and he came over.
"Who's that at the door?" He shrugged but walked over to answer it.
We walked away but turned quickly at the sound of Peter yelling and someone else replying equally as loud.
I ran over.
"What is going on here?" I yelled.
The boy well adult at the door was older than me and possibly older than Zeke.
"Who are you? I'm trying to have a conversation here without you interrupting, emo." The man spat.
"Who do you think you are?!" I heard Sarrice yell.
"Scar don't-" Peter said but she cut him off.
"You can't come into someone else's home yelling and calling people names like that! So I suggest you leave now." She hissed at him. The man backed up but looked at her strangely.
"Scar?" He asked. The way he tilted his head was familiar.
"That's my name." She said sarcastically.
"Ok why don't we finish this outside."
"He's not going anywhere with you!" Scar spat.
"You can just show up here Simon." Peter whispered.
"Please just talk to me." He begged.
Peter nodded wrenched out of my grip and stalked outside slamming the door.
"Ugh what is up with him!" Scar groaned loudly.
"He'll be ok Sary. Let him handle it he's a big boy." I said soothingly and pushed her towards the living room.
I looked out the window in the door quickly, just a glance, then stopped. I turned around and looked again. The guy was kissing Peter. Well more or less they were kissing. I was going to wait for him but Matt called me over so I had to move.
I walked over and joined the group in the dining area. We talked then sat down waiting for Peter so we could say grace then eat.
He came in looking flustered and sat down beside me quietly.
I nudged him and he smiled.
Victor gave grace and we began eating.
"Guys after dinner I was thinking we could go to the beach and have a bonfire." Sarrice offered to the band and we all agreed.
"Dad you and Lindsey are welcome to join as well as Katie and Pete." She offered but they declined.
"Alright Peter what's the big news you brought us out here for." Matt asked.
Peter cleared his throat and stood up.
"Well two things. 1. Made the football team!" We all clapped and congratulated him.
"Ok and the other thing is, I received a letter from the school and because of how high I did on my ETCs both mid semester and end I am able to skip 10 grade!"
"Pete oh my gosh that's amazing!" Sarrice said standing up and hugging him.
"Well I learned from the best. You." He said and Sarrice smiled.
"How did you learn from Sarrice?" Lindsey asked.
"I skipped a grade in high school as well." She explained.
We all continued to eat and joke as always. Then Sarrice said she had good news as well.
"Well we found out today that we go on tour in a month." She said.
"No way!" Peter said and looked at her in awe.
"Yes way!" Tany joked.
We all laughed at her.
I got a text and looked down.
'Get home now! Something's wrong!' It was from Derek.
"Sarrice I hate to cut this short but I have to leave." I said standing up. She looked at me and stood up walking me to the door.
"Everything ok?" She asked and I shook my head.
"Uh I don't know what's wrong but Derek needs me home." I said.
"Can you ride home with the guys?" I asked and she nodded.
"Or I can stay here. But be safe ok?" She said and I nodded.
I kissed her quickly.
I opened the door and went to leave but turned and called out,
"Goodnight love you!"
She smiled.
"Love you too!"
I got in the car and pulled away.
I grabbed my phone and called Derek.
"What's wrong?" I said as soon as he answered.
"He won't leave. I understand now Dash."
"I told you Dad didn't deserve a second chance. He left us to fend for ourselves." I said.
"I know but hurry. He's drunk. He's scaring Daisy."
"I'm coming I'll be there soon." I hung up and started driving faster.
I balled up my fist and hit the steering wheel hard.
"Why does he have to come back!" I screamed.
Suddenly something on the radio caught my attention.
'I'll fight! I'll stand up tall!
I'll raise my voice from the crowd and shout!
This is my time! This is my fate. This is my everything!'
I immediately gasped and pulled over on the road, turning up the radio.
I called Cougar quickly.
"DUDE TURN ON 106.9!!! Quick!"
"Ok ok..HOLY SHIT THATS OUR SONG!"
"I KNOW!! Call the others show them."
He hung up and I videoed it playing.
"Oh wow! That's our song!" I said in disbelief.
I continued driving when a thought struck me. How? We've never sent that song to anyone before.
I was so deep in thought I didn't notice the tree that was falling across the road. When I did it was too late. Suddenly everything went dark.

***
*Matt's Pov*
After Dash left we decided to go to the beach for a little while.
We grabbed the surfboards and went night surfing.
I was sitting in the sand watching Sarrice surf then fall off and climb back on her board.
Her phone was sitting beside me and it went off making me jump. It was Derek.
"Hello?"
"Hey uh is Sarrice there?" Derek asked.
"Nah she's in the water what can I do for ya?" I asked.
"Uh is Dash there? I talked to him earlier and he was headed home but he never made it. I thought he might have come back." When he mentioned Dadh I got worried.
"No he left like 3 hours ago. I'll get everyone and we can go look for him."
"Thank you so much!" Derek was concerned but so was I.
I hung up then grabbed our stuff.
"SCAR TANY BENJI GET IN NOW!" I yelled and they turned and swam in quickly.
Zeke came running over from where he sat with Kalel.
"What's wrong dude?" He asked.
The others came up breathless.
"Dash didn't make it home. That was 3 hours ago." Sarrice face dropped the smile it had and she looked scared.
"We have to go! Now!" She screamed and tried to run to the car but I grabbed her by the waist.
"No uh uh. You are too involved I don't need you snapping at me every chance you get. You're staying." I demanded and she just nodded weakly.
"I'll stay with her." Kalel offered and I hugged her kissed her cheek then we took off to the cars.
"Benji you're with me!" Tany yelled running to her car.
Damion came running outside and saw us and ran over to me.
"Either get in or stay out we've got to go!" I said.
He climbed in, and Will went with Zeke.
"Three way call. Tell Tany to take Riverside, Zeke Oceanview and we'll take Everwood road." I told Damion and he called them delivering the messages.
We all went in the three directions and began looking for his car.
"Hey call Cougar and ask if he's seen him!" Damion picked up his phone and called.
He put it on speaker.
"Hey Cougar."
"Sup man?"
"Have you seen Dash? Or heard from him? He never made it home and everyone is worried." I said.
"Yeah he called me around 8 because our song was on the radio. Then he said something about a bad signal and hung up." He said.
"Hey I'll get Ricky and Shawn and we'll look on this end." He offered.
Damion agreed and hung up.
"Cmon D think. Where could he be?"
I said.
Then I got to thinking bad signal.
Then I turned to Damion as he looked at me,
"The shortcut." We stated at the same time. I quickly turned the car around and went down the dirt road.
"Hey call Kalel and tell her we have an idea of where he might be. Also ask her is she knows if there was bad weather this way earlier." I told Damion and he nodded calling her.
That's when I saw the car. And the tree on it.
"That's Dash's isn't it?" Damion yelled. Kalel was talking on the other end and he hung up.
"It is."
I jumped out and so did Damion.
We ran to the car.
"Dash! Dash! Can you hear us?"
I didn't hear anything.
"Dude we have to get him out." Damion called.
"But how this tree is huge!" I yelled back.
That's when it started pouring.
"You've got to be fucking kidding me!" I yelled.
We then heard numerous cars pulling up.
"Kalel said you needed some help!" Zeke called out and he, Will, and Benji came over.
"Yeah come help us. Dash is inside we need to get him out!"
We all tried to move the tree and Tany stood to the side on the phone with someone.
"I called an ambulance and its on the way."
Another car pulled up but this one full of males our age.
"Hey what's going on?" One yelled.
"Our friends trapped we need to get him out!" I yelled.
"Hey we'll help."
They joined us and I recognized some boys from the house in the group.
One of them was the one Peter was arguing with.
Now our group was about 10 or 11 and we managed to move the tree a little bit. Just enough to where we could see Dash. His head was bleeding and he was unconscious. I also saw a big red stain across his chest and my heart sank.
"I see him!" I called everyone stopped and looked.
"We could break the windshield and pull him out." Damion offered.
"How the hell are we supposed to do that?" Benji asked.
He was cut off by one of the guys grabbing a big branch and hitting the windshield. It didn't break but that didn't stop him. He continued until it cracked and some pieces fell through.
I pulled my shirt off and wrapped it around my hands and broke more pieces away and reached through the front of the car.
"Tany! Get over here!" Benji yelled.
She was crying but came anyways.
"Help me figure out where he's bleeding from." I asked and she pulled his shirt back. And I froze.
There was a large branch in the right side of his chest.
"Oh god oh god." Tany cried out. And fell back sobbing. Before she could hit the ground one of the men grabbed her and she cried into his chest.
Damion called Kalel.
I saw the red and blue lights pull up and the paramedics came running over. They did their jobs and got him out of the car.
They put him on a stretcher and loaded him into the ambulance.
I came forward and asked to ride along they agreed and I climbed in the back.

I keep having bad things happen but I couldn't help it.....oops.
Anywhore my school starts next week so I won't be updating as much so I just wanted to inform you of that. I'll still update just not like I have been so yeah ✌🏼️✌🏼
