*Peters Pov*
I exited the locker room heading straight for the bleachers looking for Sary. I heard my name being yelled from over to one side and turned.
I saw Simon and the rest of our group. I grinned and made my way over to them.
I didn't like the look Simon had on his face.
Then I noticed that Jess and Ricky were there with Cougar. But no Sarrice.
I received hugs from everyone and I turned to Simon who had his arm around my shoulder.
"Where is she?" I asked him.
"She's uh at the hospital." He said shifting.
"Why?" I asked well more demanded.
"It's Dash I think I'm not sure exactly." He said.
"Of course she's with Dash! Will I ever get to see my sister! It's not like she isn't moving half way across the country to live with him or anything!"I began ranting but quickly received a slap to the back of my head. I turned around to see Katie looking at me sternly. Oh shit.
"She called me and told me that she feels horrible that she's not here. Dash's little sister began coughing up blood only 4 months after she was declared cancer free and you go on ranting about how you never see your sister. Grow up! At least you get to see her and you know that she loves you! You are wasting away your life doing idiotic things with these so called friends when the people you should be with are right here! You don't know what's going on with our parents because you are wallowing in self pity! Stop while your behind Peter. Get over yourself." She shouted at me her voice growing softer at the end. She shook her head at me and walked away.
A group had gathered around us and there were phones being held up from apparently recording the interaction.
"Well way to go fag. You just ache for attention dont you? And as for your sister. She had to be related to you, she seems like too much of a freak to not be." Jace, I fellow football player spat at me.
"Is she gay like you or does she just dress like a lesbian? She fits the type well, emo, ugly, and can't sing." He finished.
I don't know what surprised everyone else more. What he said or the fight I started right after.
I punched him in the face as soon as he finished speaking.
He tried to punch back but I pushed him to the ground. His nose was bleeding and he looked shocked. I was grabbed back by one of the officers who monitor the games and held.
"Say what you want about me but don't you fucking dare talk about my family like that ever again! I've put up with your shit for too long and you just crossed the line. If you think for one second I'll continue to sit by from now on you're wrong." I shouted as I was pulled away from the crowd.
After my talk with the coach and the principal I was given two weeks suspension.
I walked over to my friends and I was welcomed with cheers and clapping.
Except for my dad. He looked upset.
"Peter." He said sternly after a few moments. I looked to him.
"We'll talk about this later and Sarrice will be involved in this." I automatically bit back a groan.
She loved helping get me out of trouble but she hated fighting. Of any kind.
"Really?" I asked him.
"Yes really. You know better Peter." He wanted to say more but Lindsey stopped him.
"He stood up for himself and his family give him a break Victor, for now." Lindsey said and I looked at in awe.
I didn't think she'd stand up for me.
"Let's go get your sister." Dad sighed and started walking towards the car.
My friends all waved and shouted goodbyes.
Simon gave me a hug and told me to be safe. I smiled at him and heard my dad yell,
"Now! Peter!" So I shrugged waving and walked away.
I went to the car and sat with Katie sulking until we got to the hospital.
We all exited the car and went inside. I was getting strange looks because of the way I was dressed and smelled like shit. Field shorts and an undershirt for shoulder pads don't really make hospital atire.
"Here son." I looked up and my dad was holding his jacket towards me so I pulled it on and zipped it up most of the way. A little better.
We found Sary easily enough. She was standing outside a room with Dash and they were speaking quietly. More or less arguing. I went to walk over to her but Lindsey grabbed me and told me to let them talk.
A doctor exited the room and looked at Dash sadly. He was almost crying. I shrugged off Lindsey and walked over to Sary.
"I know Dash. I'm sorry I would stay here longer if I could but I have to finish this tour." She said to him and gave him a hug then she spotted me.
"Hey there short shit." She laughed and pulled me into a hug.
"I think you're the short shit here, short shit." I replied ruffling her hair.
"Aw man you messed up my hair." She complained. She then walked off to talk to dad.
"Hey Dash." I said and he replied with a hey and a short hug.
"How is she?" I asked him and he shrugged.
"We'll know more tomorrow." He said simply and turned back to the window.
I looked in and saw his mom and sister in there. Daisy was asleep and his mom was sitting next to her.
"Hey Peter let's head home yeah?" Sarrice said grabbing my arm and I knew I was in trouble.
"I'll see you tomorrow before I leave." She told Dash and gave him a kiss and we walked outside. We drove in silence and when we got home she talked to dad for a while then walked into my room.
"Dad seems to think you need to be punished for fighting. And I agree. But you being here isn't that much of a punishment. So you're coming with me for the rest of tour and then to help set up the house until your suspension is over." She said and I almost yelled for joy at the thought of getting out of Florida for two weeks.
"This isn't going to be fun for you Peter you're helping set up at the shows and working during them." She explained. I nodded.
"Then start packing we leave tomorrow at 2." I almost chocked on my water and then jumped up shoving her out of my room to pack and call the group and tell them the news.
This guy is going on tour and missing school for two weeks.
