We pulled up to the park half past ten and I was relieved to see that he had actually left and wasn't waiting up for us.

"You know, it's starting to get a little too cold to play basketball." Elijah smiled at me as he held the door open for me and cold November air surrounded me.

"What do you have in mind then?"

He walked me over to my car, a 2011 ford fusion that used to be my dad's. "Have you ever been on a treasure hunt?"

"A treasure hunt? Like a pirate?"

Elijah's smile grew and he leaned against the open door. "Exactly like a pirate."

"No," I laughed, "I've never been on a pirate hunt then."

"Well then you can just call me Captain Elijah Banks. Meet me here at 4 and we'll go on a swashbuckling adventure in search of treasure."

"Are you serious?"

"Like a hurricane. Dress warm, it's supposed to be even colder tomorrow." He grinned as he closed the car door saying goodbye with a small wave.

As I was turning on the car to get the heat going I jumped in surprise at the sound of someone tapping on my window.

"Hey Mystery Girl?"

He's smile was gone and he was suddenly serious when I rolled down the window. "What's up?"

He squatted down, his arms resting against the frame of the window and his head inside the car with me. "You are enough. Collin was an ass for not realizing it."

Then he kissed my cheek.
