Elia's POV:
A small sigh escapes my lips as I open my eyes and get out of bed. Staring around at my hauntingly empty room reality sets in and sadness overwhelmes me as I know today will be the last day I will ever set foot in my room again. I reluctantly get changed and grab the last of my items before trudging down the stairs. "Elia let's go!" I hear my dad yell not seeing that I was right behind him. He turns around and smiles "Oh good you're here!" I give him a slight nod and make my way to the kitchen "Could you please try to be happy about this" my dad says calling after me. "You know not everyone is so lucky to have an job opportunity in England" he adds. I bite the inside of cheek with anxiousness as my dad walks into the kitchen. "Look dad, it's not that I'm not happy for you and the company it's just a little overwhelming with everything that has happened before this, and all the changes we've had to make and now this. This is a big change and I haven't even gotten used to the other changes yet. I also don't want to leave ja-" "Elia." my dad blurts cutting me off quickly "Don't think of it in such a negative light I wouldn't have taken the management position over there if I didn't think it wasn't the best idea for our family." I nod in understandment, secretly hoping the he is right about this being the best thing for us. "Go out to the car now, your moms waiting on us." and with that I grab my stuff and head out.
"Look at all the castles they have in Kent El,"my mom says nudging my arm as she holds a tourist pamphlet in my face, "and look at these cute little shops" she adds and points to the pictures. "Seems amazing mom." I say trying to give her a false sense of excitement from me. My dad walks over to us handing my mom and I coffee from a shop in the airport. I thank him and go back to waiting til it's time to board the plane.
The plane was crowded and smelt like disinfected plastic. I was sat by the window with my mom on the my left and my dad next to her. Before the plane began to take off I grabbed the book I had currently been reading from my carry on and enveloped myself into the book. A couple hours into the flight I began to feel my eyes get heavy and so shut with exhaustion. I woke up a bit started as I felt the plane shake underneath me but quickly came to realize it was just the turbulence from landing. I slowly stretched my arms up and have a small yawn. My mom looked over to me and smiled "We're here." she says and embraces me from the side. We unboard the plane and quickly grab our luggage. Finally stepping outside the fresh air relives me and I take a deep breath. My dad escorts us to the company car that was waiting in the lot, and pulls the keys out of his pocket. He quickly enters our new home address into the GPS and drives out of the airport parking lot. The drive felt ungodly long but we eventually pulled into a quaint English neighborhood and then into the drive of what I assume to be our new house. The house was beautiful in my eyes and nothing at all like the one we had back in the states. Grabbing my bags I hop out of the car and make my way inside. Most of our things have already been unpacked and placed around thanks to my dad for flying back and fourth for the past couple of weeks trying to get the house set up for the official move in date, of course we couldn't move everything abroad so some larger items he bought here and put them in. "Your room is the last door on the right!" my dad calls up to me as I make my way up the stairs. I take a quick look around my new room before flopping down on the bed.
"Elia wake up," my mom says as she peaks her head into my room. I feel the sunshine of the new day beam down on my face. "I like it." she adds looking around my room. I lift my head up and nod sleepily. "Come on you have to get up, you have school today." as she says that I groan and drop my head back on my pillow "But we just got here yesterday cant I just sleep." I protest. She sighs "Sorry, but we told your school you would be in classes today." "Fine." I reluctantly get out of bed and hop in the shower. After my shower I rummage through my clothes and try to find something to throw on. I double check to make sure I have everything before grabbing my bag and heading down the stairs. My dad looked up from the paper and smiled at me "You nervous?" He asks and sips on his coffee. "A little," I nod "I've never really been the new kid before." "You'll be fine." he smiles "When are you going to the gym today?" I ask curiously seeing as this new boxing gym is the only reason we moved here in the first place. He takes a quick glance at the clock "In a little bit, I wanted to be here to wish you luck today for your new school." "Am I ever going to see you now," I give a small laugh "I mean when you were just a boxing trainer it took up a lot of your time, but now you're going to manage the place too, I think I'm going to have to draw you into our Christmas cards." He laughed with and shook his head in disagreement "Oh no don't worry I will make time for my family, I always do." "Alright, if you say so" I pause for a moment "Thank you for being here on my first day." I say sincerely. He gives me a quick kiss on my forehead before I head out the door.
