Your Perspective
You woke up snuggled up under blue covers the next morning. You slowly opened your eyes and soon realized you were snuggled up in the chest of a dork. You couldn't help but smile and blush but you quickly shook it. You couldn't be in love yet- you literally just broke up with Dave yesterday. It was true that you still loved Dave, but John's adorable charm was pretty hard to resist. Snapping yourself from your thoughts of romance, you forced yourself out of his arms and sat up on the bed. You glanced over at the clock to see what time it was.
"12:30..." You sighed and wobbly rose to your feet. You slipped out the door of John's bedroom quietly, making sure not to wake him. You rubbed your crusty, tear-stained eyes and sniffled as you walked into the kitchen. John's dad- a tall, mysterious man dressed in an all white suit and fedora- was in the kitchen when you got there, making pancakes. That man was always making some form of cake...
"Good morning, Mr. Egbert." You greeted. He placed his bubble-pipe in his mouth and gave you a simple wave. He pointed to the pancakes as if offering you some. "Oh, yes please. Pancakes would be lovely." He picked up a bag of chocolate chips and kept his finger pointed to the pancake. Was this guy a mime or something? "No, thank you. Just plain is fine." He nodded and turned back to his cooking while you walked over to the fridge. Since you liked to come over while Dave wasn't home, this was normal for everyone. You pulled the milk from the fridge and poured yourself a cup of it, and as you were putting the jug back, you heard the sound of footsteps coming down the stairs. Soon enough, John appeared in the doorway with his joke glasses on. You were about to say something, but John's Dad stood in front of him and held up a freshly baked cake with blue frosting.
"Dad, not now!" John whined. He grabbed your hand in an attempt to get you both out, but John's Dad smashed the cake on John's head. He groaned and let out an annoyed sigh as you laughed.
"You look great in cake, Egbert." You joked.
"I bet you do too!" He took some cake off of his head and threw it at you. Luckily for him, he didn't get any cake in your eyes and you are a practical jokester yourself. You blinked at him before you both burst out laughing. All the while, John's dad was casually making pancakes and placing candles on them.
"I think I gotta take a shower." John laughed, wiping some cake from his eye.
"Yeah, me too. But you're more covered then me so you should go first."
"Wait, you're gonna take a shower here?"
"Hell yeah I'm not walking home covered in blue cake." You chuckled and looked down at your frosted shirt.
"Uh... Alright."
"Is that a problem? You better not watch me or anything, Egbert."
"Fuck no! That's weird! A goofy gentleman like me would never do that!" He placed his hand over his heart like he was offended.
"Alright, Egbert. I trust you." You rolled your eyes playfully.
"Ladies first." He said, showing you the doorway as if you didn't know where it was before. You didn't feel like arguing with him anymore so you just smiled and pat his cake-covered head.
"Why, thank you." You walked past him and went upstairs into the bathroom to take a relaxing sh-
"Wait! ____!" John called after you and stopped you before you could walk into the bathroom.
"Yes, Egderp?" You raised an eyebrow and glanced at him.
"I have a change of clothes for you when you're finished." He handed you a stack of his clean clothing. You nodded and thanked him before closing the door on him and giggling as you locked it.
