Episode 9: Duel with a Ghoul

Everyone stood beside the dueling arena where the ghoulish Kaiba lookalike waits.

Kemo, still holding onto Mokuba, laughs. "Icarus, you don't stand a ghost of a chance against Kaiba because Kaiba is a ghost!"

Icarus just glares at Kemo not believing it for a second. Naturally Icarus somewhat remembered this episode, she knows that this wasn't really her 'boss' Seto. Pulling out her deck she looked through her card, humming softly as she took some cards out and added a few special cards in her deck.

Mokuba yells at Kemo "Stop it, you're lying"

But Kemo smiles "it's a fact, witnesses saw Kaiba fall to his doom" he stated which only angered the two-tone brown-haired duelist even more.

The gang all gasp in shock, while Mokuba tears up and tried to hit Kemo "You're a liar! Take that back!".

Kemo got control of the young Kaiba "Get used to it. All that's left of Kaiba is a cranky ghost looking for revenge on the person who failed at keeping their brother safe." he says, smirking at Icarus.

'Yugi' who, let's be honest was still Yami spoke up, standing in front of Icarus with an arm out like he was 'protecting' her "This can't be Kaiba. He's nothing but a fake, a trick by Pegasus!" Yami then turned to the young Kaiba and smiled reassuringly "Don't worry Mokuba, I'll-" he couldn't finish as Icarus pulled 'Yugi' back behind her.

"I'll win the duel and make sure your safe Moku- and we'll look for Seto together" Icarus says, holding out her pinky in the air. Mokuba smiled gently at Icarus and nodded, also holding out his pinky as they shared an air pinky promise. Icarus just hopes she can keep it.

Meanwhile, Pegasus and Croquet are watching the confrontation on the computer screen from the castle hall. Pegasus laughs "Oh! How I love reality TV". Croquet turned to Pegasus and asked who Icarus dueling is with, and Pegasus merely smiled "Well it is Kaiba—what's left of him".

Croquet is astonished "H-how did you do that?"

Pegasus waves him off "Oh, I can't take all the credit. I'd had help from Yugi. However I was going to return the favor, I was going to teach Yugi a lesson about the real power of the Millennium Items....But this girl-" Pegasus took a sip from his wine before speaking again "She seems adamant to duel and frankly she's an odd one so I want to see what she can do, it's not every day anyone; especially a woman, to get in close with Seto. She must be very special"

The 'Ghost' Kaiba taunts Icarus "Aw Icarus it looks like you seen a ghost" he laughs as Icarus goes onto the dueling platform. and placing down her deck. "As you can see, I'm no longer of this world" the 'Ghost' Kaiba says and points and Yugi then at her " And it's both your faults. I could have had it all, but when Yugi beat me, Yugi took more than just the match. Yugi took my life and destroyed my soul!"

Icarus rolled her eyes which angered the 'Ghost' Kaiba "And you! You Icarus, I should have never trusted you! You failed my brother so now I'll make you pay!" he finished which actually kinda stung Icarus a bit, she knows it's not Seto but still.

Mokuba calls out to Icarus "Beat this guy—he's nothing but a fake!"

The others agree.

But the 'Ghost' Kaiba grins evilly at Icarus while thinking 'Icarus...Yugi, I know you two can hear me and guess what...this time I has nothing to lose'.
